Whichever one you go for, you'll need to make a rock that loss like the Morph Ovum. Convincing people to turn into chickens when you hit them with it may be a taller order.
Can somebody make this a thing? This needs to happens.

@ Mordecai Weaver: Good to know, but to be honest, I'm not big into armor: I prefer mobility.
Armor really isn't heavy or in the way of mobility if it fits you well. That's just a stereotype.

It was legit. Not some bull**** like that.
12  Gear / Weapons & Armor / Re: Wooden Armor: Legal or not? on: July 28, 2014, 02:21:54 am
No, a Linothorax is basically Greek kevlar, it was made of several layers of linen glued together, it could stop an arrow from a longbow.
Considering longbows weren't a thing in ancient Greece I doubt that.
Oh, and historians actually can't agree what the item we call linothorax was made of or how it was constructed.
I saw a documentary where they made it like I said, and shot it with a longbow, it only penetrated a quarter of an inch.
13  Gear / Weapons & Armor / Re: Wooden Armor: Legal or not? on: July 27, 2014, 08:25:36 am
Speaking of armor materials, I know a Linothorax can't be legal in the game. But would it have a chance of ever being aloud?

Yeah, leather's still legit if it's been painted/dyed white.  ;)

((Thanks for including me. I'm thinking of going down the route where Hiøtr isn't sure if he's in a dreaming state or not, so he is slightly paranoid.))  Hiøtr made his way to the town and asked the first person he saw where he was. The... Man? said he was in Dis. Hiøtr asked. "But how is this Dis?" The spirit answered with. "This place encompasses the sixth through the ninth circle of Hell. So this is the city whose name is Dis." Hiøtr replied with. "But I came from the void, and through the river." The spirit asked "Do you mean the river Phlegethon , the river of fire?, for your chain mail is blackened." "But I am not dead. Nor am I damned." Hiøtr declared. "No, you are not. Is Virgil your guide?" Høtr replied with. "I have not seen him, but his guidance would be much appreciated." The spirit said. "I must be going now." Hiøtr said. "Thank you kindly for the help. But I have two more question, what circle is this, and is there a place for me to stay?" The spirit answered with. "This is the fifth circle. Enjoy your stay." And with that, the spirit departed. Hiøtr started walking towards a group of spirits in armor, but they were not spirits. "Tristan, is that you?" He asked them. Tristan replied with. "Hiøtr, it is good to see you." Hiøtr asked. "Are you real, is this place real?" Tristan answered with. "Sadly, I believe so, but why do you question us?" Hiøtr said. "I came from the void, and through the river Phlegethon. I am weary, is there no place for us to stay?" Tristan replied with. "I'm afraid not, my friend." And with that Hiøtr collapsed.
25  General / Roleplaying / Re: Nightside Rising on: July 05, 2014, 06:44:41 am
Hiøtr trudged up the steep hill towards the lodge, when he got to it he looked it over, "This can't be." He said to himself. Instead of a lodge with a warm light shining through the windows, standing before him was a small hut. It's roof was sagging, it's windows shattered, and it was cold not warm. Strangely, the door was in perfect condition, it even had a silver door knob with gold inlaid in it. He reached for the knob and twisted it, the door was locked. Instantaneously the ground began to shake, and wooden pillars grew like saplings from the earth, encircling the hut and Hiøtr alike. Each pillar had a key it's limb, each one more beautiful than the last. Except for one key, it was rusted and eroded. Hiøtr reached his arm out and took the key, hey studied it and said "Truly such a key could not go to a lock so beautiful. But who am I to judge?" He put the key in the lock and turned it.The door opened, and he stepped inside. When he stepped forward he fell into what seemed like a bottomless pit. But he realized he was not falling at all, but floating. He opened his eyes and saw darkness only. He floated for what seemed like lifetimes. looking for a way out of the void. He decided he would never get back to his life, so he slept, he slept for years and years. Each night was like unto ten lifetimes, though he knew time no longer existed. Finally he awoke to from his deep sleep, he had a dream, he had not had a dream in a long while, or was it only a day since the last, or a year? He didn't know. But was it a dream, or a nightmare? He opened his eyes and looked about him, but what was the point? There was nothing to see, but then he saw something a glowing hole in the void that let light in, it was like a whirlpool in the sea, and he decided he had slept long enough, so he swam towards it. He was sucked into the light, and put into another sleep. When he awoke he was still floating, but he was cold, and he heard sound. But he could not recall the sound. It had been so long. He looked around him, and he was in a river. "Water?" He said. "Is this another dream? Or am I free to leave that place? If you could even call it a place. I should say that void."  He swam onto shore and saw a town in the distance. He decided to go and see where he was. Or wasn't.

Hiøtr brushed the hair from his eyes, and wiped them with his sleeve. Quickly realizing his glasses were gone, he patted himself down looking for them. As his eyes adjusted to the dark he realized his vision was better than usual, in fact it was great! He pulled his sword out from it's sheath to find it was steel, and not much heavier than it was before (Swords aren't much heavier in real life). Across his back his shield was slung, but it was a great deal heavier considering it was made completely of foam before. Suddenly he realized he didn't have his most precious item, his medication. He searched frantically for it, when he reached in his belt pouch, he found a vial filled with a purple liquid. On its lid it said Nexium. There were also instructions in the pouch to make more of it. Many of the ingredients he had never heard of. They must be native to this new land. He looked for his bike, but it was gone, next to it laid his bike helmet, which had transformed into a beautiful spangen helm. He saw a light across the field on a hill, he decided to make his ways towards it. He wasn't sure what this new world had for him. Hopefully, it was a bright future.

46  Gear / Garb & Equipment / Re: Bocksten tunic on: May 27, 2014, 01:58:01 am
Hi, Traegis! Thanks for the feedback! The length on the standard tunic was pulled from a couple sources, including the average shoulder-hem measurement requested by a couple year's worth of customers. Most gents, for the Anglo-Saxon/Viking look, prefer to pull their tunics up to about knee-length with a belt. This late 10th century English manuscript gives a good impression of that:

In this 11th century illustration, these farmers are doing the same thing, but even more so!

The general theory among reenactors seems to be that a bit of extra cloth implies wealth and status. This bit of the Bayeux Tapestry, for example, shows William the Conquerer and his brother Odo the archbishop wearing tunics even longer than the normal knee-ish length!

All that said, I'm always happy to make alterations to the normal tunic's length on request. I just shot you a coupon code that'll give you 10% off your next order. Use that coupon and the length you would prefer into the 'note to seller' field, and I'll make it happen!
Thanks for clearing that up.
47  Gear / Garb & Equipment / Bocksten tunic on: May 26, 2014, 10:40:32 am
Hi guys, I just recently received a Four gored Bocksten tunic from Ilsa.
I have no complaints with it. But how far below the knee should it come?
Mine comes about 3 to 4 inches below my knee, and it feels a bit like I'm wearing a dress. I guess I could just pull it up a tad and hold it there with a belt. It's amazingly comfortable though. So I totally recommend Tailored Tunics. 8/10.

49  Gear / So you want to be a...? / Re: So I want to be a Chaos Warrior. on: May 26, 2014, 02:09:07 am
Don't wear T-tunics. They're based on cotton T-shirts that are made to stretch. You would be better off with a sweater vest.
50  Fighting / General Fighting Discussion / Re: dealing with strap shields on: May 26, 2014, 01:56:30 am
Kick 'em.  Hit 'em hard enough that the weapon they're blocking their other side with doesn't do a thing to prevent sufficient force.  Take their legs and leave them to die in the mud.
Though this works, I hate when it happens to me. It's kind of a joke on me that happens a lot.
