Gear / Buy / Sell / Trade / Attention monstrous characters: Paint for trade (or sale)

I just purchased three gallons of food dye, one each of red, yellow, and blue. I do not need that many gallons of dye, but I had gotten tired of buying it in tiny bottles, too expensive. Unfortunately, tiny drop bottle size appears to be the only one commonly available for food dye, until you get to the gallon size. Rather than start a bakery to use up all the extra, I've decided to pass the savings on to my fellow orks, goblins, fae of all sorts, etc.
I will be bringing the dye, and small spray applicator bottles to larger events from now on, starting with Gates of Fire. Feel free to contact me on here or on Facebook if you would like me to make you a bottle of a certain size or color. speaking of colors, since I have all three primary additive colors, I can theoretically make any color you want. In practice, I know I can make green, orange, and purple. If you want a different shade or tone, I'll be happy to work with you to get it right.
I always prefer trade to monetary compensation, but I won't turn down cash. I'm willing to accept a wide range of things in trade, pretty much anything period or fantasy appropriate is always appreciated. make me an offer, I'm sure we can work something out.

Sort of like buttless chaps.
Show me a pair of chaps that HAS a butt.
THANK YOU! Chaps are, by definition, assless. "Assless chaps" is redundant. Get off my lawn.

If you are that confused by the armor rules, perhaps you should wait until you have more experience & a greater understanding before you invest in armor.
It doesn't matter how much experience you have, the metal armor rules are confusing.

Easy fix. Armor is armor, no matter if it's on your head or your torso. I have never even heard someone try to defend holding helmets to a different standard than other armor, so why is it still in the MoA?

I don't know what a broomstick skirt is, but I wear a skirt, not a kilt, not a toga, not a tunic, a skirt. It is not a manskirt, as I am not a man, I am a goblin. It is a goblin skirt.
May I come to your party?

I was scrolling down past that picture and a friend caught a glimpse over my shoulder and asked if it was the punisher symbol. So there's your recognizability test.

Good start, but your pants need like 75% more poof. Right now they look like sweatpants or straight pants that are bunched at the bottom. Seriously get more poof in those pants. Once you add more poof, add a little bit more after that. Wow...sounds like he needs MC Hammer pants!
Psst. That's a she.
Female fighting garb. You're doin' it rite.

If you want to get a handle on this stuff really quickly, grab yourself a king james bible and read until you get a good feel for it (I'd say Shakespeare, but the bible's easier to follow). [...] If you read enough, you'll start to learn the difference between knoweth / knowest, and thee / thou unconsciously[...]
But, if you go with Shakespeare, you get the added bonus of unconsciously learning to speak in iambic pentametre.

My friend's metal knee should count as the only legal knee plate armor!
More like, your friend should be kicked off the field before he kills us all with his metal knee of doom, amirite? /larpphysics

So, just so I understand, this is pretty much the conversation so far, RE:Armor-izing the hat.: Cyl: Lookit mah hat! Dag people: Is it armor? Cyl: Nope, not armor, just garb. Dag people: Well that's confusing, it looks like it should be armor. Cyl: Ok. *Makes into armor* Dag people: It shouldn't count as armor!

I'm just envisioning a 19-year-old college student, who in my hypothetical scenario is male and according to antiquated gender norms never learned any domestic skills besides chopping wood,...
You should feel lucky if he knows how to chop wood.

If you're cutting a limb from the tree, make sure you let the wood age/dry (like, a couple of months for a dag-weapons sized limb) before attempting to build anything on it.

Phoenix Rising at Britannia Faire, and a lot of other Britannia events were/are like this.
Tell me 'bout it.
Not much else to tell. RP-heavy scenarios with lots of complicated rules which we goblins promptly ignore in favor of...being goblins.

It's not a bad site, it's just retro. Makes me think I'm in the 90's again. Brings back nostalgia for my youthful explorations of the "world wide web".

I don't know jack about metal armor. But I have some experience simplifying, clarifying, and even deliberately complicating rulesets for various games. Can anyone explain to me what is wrong with the following? 5.2 - Metal Armor: 5.2.1 - Metal armor may be made of iron, steel (including stainless or galvanized), bronze, brass, copper, or titanium. 5.2.2 - All corners must be rounded to at least 1/2" radius for safety. 5.2.3 - Helmets may not have "non-period" grills (e.g., most "SCA" helmets have non-period grills). 5.2.4 - The minimum thickness of plate armor and chainmail is 18 gauge. 5.2.5 - The maximum thickness of metal armor is 1/8 inch. 5.2.6 - Rigid metal hand, knee or elbow armor is forbidden (ring or chainmail is permitted).

Your best bet might be to find someone who already has an exceptional example of whichever kits you decide to do, and get them to make a minimum and failing example of that kit. That' way you end up spending the least amount of cash possible.

What do you mean "added to the MoA?" I thought the MoA just had rules for fighting and such.
It also has garb rules. Including examples of failing, minimum, and optimal garb. Also, "barbarian" is too broad a term to be equivalent to orcs. Gauls, Alemanni, Persians, Huns...they're all barbarians, and not similar to orcs.
I didn't mean they were equivilant, I just meant that there was enough overlap between "minimum orc garb" and "minimum barbarian garb" that if you are only going to add a few examples, you shouldn't add both of them. Go for something completely different, like Celtic or Asian garb. whats the MoA
The Dagorhir Manual of ArmsLearn it. Live it. Love it.

I would like to see orc/monsterous, Celt, and Asian, along with the Viking we have now, I feel like that's a pretty wide swath of Dag.
I personally think Orc and Barbarian overlap enough that both aren't nessesary.

They look nice and they're fun. Plus, like goblin elbow sex, they are kind of unique to the Dagorhir multiverse, which actually makes them cooler than period, in my book. I'm weird like that though.

So, by transitivity, it is unsafe to wear plastic elbow and knee pads?
OMIGOD! The world of safety sports equipment must be notified that they are, in fact, endangering the players, not protecting them!
