Why Dagorhir keeps Growing!

Come on, Greymael.  Come on.

Also, I've seen MUCH more reluctance to share designs and much shoddier weapons tech in Dagorhir than elsewhere (discounting tappy sports, of course).  So I don't really know where you're getting that "free flow of information" thing.

Then you are surrounded by the wrong chapters, because in my 5 years in Dagorhir, I have never once had anyone refuse to show me how there weapon is built and assembled. I've been to Badon and Ragnarok and had people offer to have me come to there camp and show me how it's done, give me pointers on assembling there weapons and just offer to tear apart one of there own and give me point by point info on there building styles.

Greymael this is why I love Dag because if you want a to be a Knight it's about what you act like and your skills, not just the title you hold.

Well, Mirelle, it's straight-up forbidden in the legal contracts to become a Roman citizen, viewable by the public on romanempire.net. I've always experienced the same level of sharing, but then, I've never asked a Roman.

Orrin None-son:
I have not met anyone yet who would with-hold foamsmithing secrets. Several who said, "find me in person, hard to explain online..." but never a NO.

What you heard from others, and what is true is not always the same thing.

Swordbrother Lock:
I don't really like Mirelle but I like what she said.  I keep telling people that I am the most BA sexy scottish fighter to walk this earth and its true. Until Jari shows up anyway.

Why does everyone spell it Greymael instead of Graymael? Laaaaaaame.

Another thing I love about Dag is that you can choose what you want to do. You can choose between battles, tournaments, feasts, classes, workshops, parties or mud wrestling.  You can be a dumb stick jock like Blackhawk or a really cool RP fighter like Graymael.  Both roads are fine and acceptable.  The rules and game arent hard to follow and designed so well for so many people to have fun in so many different ways.

This is one of the first things I thought of . . . also, the fact that GvK's stabbing tip tutorial was just now made public, and I've been hearing about that design for years.

A lot of people are very open about weapons tech, but that attitude is NOT universal.

Getting better, though.

In general, though, I think Graymael's write-up is a pretty interesting and informative read.  Definately reads like a how-to on running Dagorhir (or a Dagorhir chapter) successfully, and (from what I've seen) most of those points have been effectively executed most of the time.

Are there some people who still don't share their tech?  Yeah, and some of them have some pretty good tech.  Fine, screw them, enough good stuff IS out there that it doesn't matter.
