List of Dagorhir Standard Games

<< < (3/18) > >>

Fayne Erving:
Thanks Lykos, at least someone appreciates this list, lol.

Name of Game
Necro Battle
Recommended Number of Players
This game is best played with small groups. 20-30 is best.
Objective
The objective in this game is two fold. For the Necromancer and his Zombie team, the objective is to kill and absorb all the humans. For the Humans, the objective is to Kill the necromancer.
Rules
-The teams must start out uneven. I usually shoot for 25% zombies and 75% humans
-When a human dies, the necro may raise him from the dead by touching him with his weapon. This also applies to Zombies.
-Once touched with the weapon, the dead must count out loud to 5
Qualities of Players
-Necromancer has 3 stone skin
-Zombies may only die from having all their limbs hacked off by a red or blue weapon. Torso hits do not kill zombies. Green and yellow hits may still incapacitate limbs, but a zombie is not dead until he loses all limbs.
-Zombies may also die from yellow or white hits to the head, regardless of armor
-Zombies may not run. All Zombies ust rp the part and shuffle their feet when in motion. That's not to say they can't use proper footwork when fighting, but when not in combat, zombies must play the part.
Penalties
-Standard Edge of World Rules
-If a herald catches a Zombie running, the zombie loses his legs
-Zombies must reasonably count to 5 with a "one-thousand" or similar wording. If hurried counting becomes a problem, heralds will count for the dead.
End of Game
Game ends when the necromancer is dead, or all humans have become zombies.
Misc Info
This game is a little complicated, but once everyone understands the rules, its a blast. Mix it up a little by having humans outnumbered and defend an area or object for a certain about of time. You can also play this game in the woods, with the humans outnumbered and the zombies hidden along a path of some sort. It brings a real feeling of achievement when players reach the end of the trail.

Hey i love to read this thread :'(

Name of Game
Paladin Battle
Recommended Number of PLayers
This game works best with medium to small groups. 15-30 max
Objective
Objective for Paladin and his team is to defeat all undead. Objective for undead is to kill Paladin
Rules
-Teams are even with one team picking a Paladin
-In this game, undead may only be killed by a green or yellow to the torso.
-Paladin may kill undead normally
-Any undead being killed by Paladin may not count armor, including shields.
-When a human is killed by an undead, he joins the undead team.
-When any undead, dies, they may not get back up. Undead in this game is much like a vampire or ghoul; it only has one life.
Penalties
Human suicide does not result in joining undead
Heralds will keep an eye on the paladin and who he fights to make sure they die normally and do not count armor. There is no real penalty for breaking this rule, but as with any honor based dagorhirrim worth his boots will know, honor is what makes this game work.
Qualities of players
-I've heard two ways of playing this game. In larger battles, Paladin has 3 stone skin. In smaller battles, he does not. It is really up to the herald to make the paladin appropriately defended.
-Undead may only die from green or yellow to the torso hit zone.
-Humans essentially have two lives. One as a human, and one as an undead once they die.
End of Game
This game ends when the Paladin dies, or when all undead have been cleansed.
Misc Info
This game is the basic setup of a boss team vs a special power team. Most of the time it is balanced, and it is often recommended that a newer person be appointed paladin.

Twolf:
Name of Game
Bombing Run / Drentha's Christmas package delivery
Recommended Number of PLayers
This game works best with medium sized groups, but can potentially be scaled up with additional targets or multiple teams.
Objective
Score the most number of points, OR score the least number of points depending on the scaling.
Rules
-There are 2 teams, each with a score point and rez point, ideally separated from each other.
-There are a number of rocks on the field that may be used as rocks, but are also "bombs"
-To score a point, take a rock and hand deliver it to the score point.  No points will be awarded for throwing the rock at the score.
-When a player successfully does this, they yell out "Point".  They immediately die, drop the rock and have to be rez'ed.
-If killed, a player must drop the rock where they die.
-Heralds are placed each score point to keep track of score and verify whether a player was killed en route.
-Normal Dag rules apply otherwise.
Penalties
-Standard Edge of the World Rules.
-Heralds keep track of points and can choose NOT to count the point if a player was clearly killed before he called "Point".
-OPTIONAL: If you're playing with a fair number of new people or people that following the rules properly, Heralds can deduct a point for the rule violation.
Qualities of players
-All Players are normal.
End of Game
Game can end either based on a fixed amount of time or whomever reaches a certain set score.
Misc Info
There is a lot of room for variation.  They include:
-Rocks are dropped immediately upon scoring the point
-Rocks are thrown into the middle of the field upon scoring the point.
-No Rocks used at all and players can use their hand on the score point
-Upon successful point, all enemy players within 10 feet of the score point automatically die (This prevents many points from being scored at once).

The game can be expanded by having multiple teams or multiple score points (We've never tested this).

EDIT: Added penalties and Changed wording to be more consistent with earlier posts by Laevus.

Lykos MacGregor:
Just to keep this consistent, here is the formula used so far to write the scenarios up.  Please use it to write up your own.
