BEWARE THE IDES OF MARCH!

Dagorhir's Season-Opening National Campout is back for a FOURTH year! Oh, and since its our FOURTH year, we figured its time to make this event FOUR days, Thursday through Sunday! Get ready to shake off the rust from the colder months and make the trip down into the warmer lands of the South!

The High Spires, along with the always-appreciated assistance from our southern allies Greyglade, Albion, and Sage Hill is proud to bring you this wonderful event. Every year The Ides of March has been filled with some of the most fun personalities and best fighters Dagorhir has to offer. Come for the fighting, stay for the camaraderie! We were nearly 200 strong last year, and with some extra guests invited out to Ides this year we are estimating a count between 250 and 300 this year!

Fighting will rage from Thursday afternoon well into the night (in the lighted and spacious pull barn). Friday will be a series of shake-off-the-winter-rust scenarios designed to ignite your hibernating warrior spirit. Saturday will be filled with a blend of woods-based and field-based scenarios that are sure to test the mettle of any fighter. Finally, after two days of unbelieveable combat, a feast will be held so that the shared victory of all attendees can be shared around a delicious meal. And if that wasn't enough, Saturday night will be filled with laughter and cheers as all attendees take their chances against Lady Luck during the Medieval Casino Night!

But don't take my word for it... get that carpool ready and come see for yourself why Ides of March is becoming a season-opening rite of passage for Dagorhir fighters across the nation!

Cost:
Cost for This Event is $20, this cost includes a Saturday Night Feast by Momma and Papa (the fine folks feeding us at past Ides of March, Badon Hill, and Ragnarok!)

Other Details:
Every Participant will need to sign a waiver. If you are under 18, you will need to have a waiver notarized and signed by your parents. The standard Dagorhir Waiver can be used.

Kritter Kamp- Kay &Kit Wiley-Area behind registration for people to be able to bring they pets, to either they take care of Kay and Kit can take of the pets. So they can enjoy the gathering. Please call and we will discuss this with you.

La Siryn's Cottage - Siryn Dolphinsong-Bradford. Offering unique gifts, metaphysical supplies, statuary of the Pagan, Eastern, and indigenous cultures, t-shirts, sarongs, hand-crafted jewelry (also made-to-order), books, Reiki tools, hand-dipped incense, and specializing in a botanica of herbs, oils, powders, stones, candles, etc. Tarot readings and Reiki offered by appointment.

There is no fee for merchanting (aside from the normal event fee), although we do request that any merchants donate an appropriate prize to the casino night event that is worth about $10 to $20. All merchants must be verified and accepted before they are allowed to merchant at Ides of March.

Sounds like a good set-up thus far, Athron. I'll be working to bring some more of the peoples from school with me again.

Also, I am probably going to bring a helmet. I like my eyes working full-time.

Also, could one of the mods update the Dagorhir.com event list with this information? That list was last updated for September 2009, and it would be nice to have the quick-access available.

You might want to check with Mama Rita about what vendors are already on-site already, so you can have a list of them as well. Also, the merchants there are more than willing to help out with prizes and such.

Good call, forgot to mention that -- there are 'permanent' vendors on the site, so we'll have some merchanting at Ides no matter what. There's some nice little shops there, I'll get a list when I can snag them on the phone.

My parents are flying back to KC from Idaho that weekend! Nuuuuu... I'd have totally driven out to St. Louis and hitched a ride down from there. That's spring break week for my school too. ;_;

Guys -- if anyone is looking for sleeping space, they now have a select number of private cabins for daily rental. The cost is between $40/night and up (depending on size and number of beds). The cabins are new, well-kept, the beds are nice and linens are provided, and electricity and a space-heater is provided. If you're interested in such a space, drop me an e-mail, I'll provide more details. Please understand that these cabins are on the small size but are new and well-kept, they are the kind of place you can get a very comfy night of rest but not the kind of place you can destroy and get filthy.

greyglades will transport themselves to ides each day via the time warp that lies just west of the battle field. That way the warriors who travels from a far can stay at the encampment.

Albion will be there and the Kargonia realm, our neighbors up in Gaffney, SC should have some people going as well. Hopefully most of the Sons of Tara can make it out. Nothing better than tearing up the field with my celtic brethren. Ides has the fantastic dates of being near spring break or on spring break for most of us. I'm looking forward to clashing some swords with my fellow dagorhirm! (And in Dudley's case crossing)

I've been to all of them as well, I'm glad were going back to the four day campout. All of them have been awesome, especially the path battle with the drop off nearby it. Props to you Dudley, the distance is definitely further for you.

p.s. There were more people there, but the rainy weather kept some people from fighting. Thats why it might not seem like there isn't as many people there. But this year they are expecting even more fighters!
