Well, here's the deal. It's a rough sport we do, a full contact martial art. And everyone else in our group so far is either a college student or, like me, has just recently graduated college.
So you'd be doing a full contact sport / martial art with people who are bigger than you.
If you're okay with that and, more important, your parents are fully aware of what we do and are fully okay with you participating, then yeah, you can fight with us!
So basically, what this would amount to, would be me talking with your parents and you, showing them what we do, and them signing a waiver for you in front of me.
If that all happens, then you're good to go! Sound good?
Man, I wish I had discovered the sport at your age.
We would love to have you join us, as long as we can work out these details. And even if it ends up that you can't participate, I would happily check your equipment for you (I'm nervous about a glaive being anybody's first weapon), or teach you how to make other equipment/garb/armor.
I have about 20 weapons in my living room, as well as 3 shields. And there are about 6 other weapons floating around the realm. So we have plenty of loaner gear that can be borrowed.
If you have friends who would want to try the sport out, the same rules would apply.... I would need to know that the parents understand what the sport is, and I would have to have a waiver signed by them (either signed in front of me, or notarized).
