So wait, the silver is swimsuit fabric or the black underneath it? Or is it double layer fabric with black under silver?

Got all the thread that was on my spindles plied and set the twist as best I could.
Cleared off the cutting table.
Quilting a gambeson now. I don't really want to be, but it'll be good to get this project off my back.
After that will be repairing several pairs of jean shorts for a certain short person.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiQUUlOwWcY

I get so sad when I watch those poor cold steel guys swinging around those blades with poor form. Sure they're (hopefully) not going to hurt themselves, but they make it look so hard to swing those things because they have no hip chi.

But until they SHOW that sword popping a balloon, I'm forced to assume that it cannot. I need scientifically verifiable testing procedures in order to validate this weapon's balloon popping ability.

On topic: Loaner garb and weapons for my (unexpectedly) exploding chapter population! Holy crap, we almost have 20 regular attendees now!

I am trying to figure out how to maximize the 4ft of 14g steel I can get plasma cut. Thus far I've decided that a circle with my unit symbol riveted on will look awesome for the chainmaille I'm gonna purchase.

I found out that my tax return is massive so I'm putting like a third away for Rag, gonna use 1/4 to 1/3 to purchase riveted chain from kult of athena, and gonna put the rest away for bills/tattoo fund.

Maybe I'll just make shelves out of the other 3 sq ft

I can offer some advice you're more than welcome to thumb your nose at. When I wanted to start learning lefty fighting, I started doing mundane things lefty to start with. Brush my teeth, open doors, eat, use a mouse, it really didn't matter. If I thought about it, because obviously using your dominant hand is a sub conscious choice, I would switch what I was doing to my left hand. I found then that when I went to practice and started lefty training, it was a lot easier.

Also I would practice a move very slowly and think about each and every muscle and motion that went into that move and then tried to mirror it on my left, but you probably already know/do that!

got back last night from vending at KatsuCon in DC with A Case of Random.  i've spent the day in slow motion.  decided on the next step in reorganising some stuff, mostly costuming for other things.  it will make things much easier to find when i need them.  will hopefully do that tomorrow or later this week.

mentally inventorying fabric wondering whether i have something i can use to finish a new dance top or if i'll have to go shopping.  i hate fabric shopping.  and sewing.  and crafting.  :p

as i go through stuff i'm starting a pile for the Barbarian Trading Post at Rag :D

I re-arranged my room in preparation for me getting a real bed this weekend, no more extra long twin size mattress on the ground for me, upgrading to a full size bed with a box spring even.

Upgrading my desk from 4 milkcrates propping up a 2'x3' piece of plywood to a real desk too. That is tomorrow though.

Getting ready to remove about half the furniture from our house in preparation for what started out as "Let's feng shui the living room" and turned into "Let's destroy all hope of feng shui throughout the house for a month so the juju will be much better when we're all done." This is what happens when my mother gets involved in a project.

You know how I'm fond of saying "Don't half-ass it - do it right." I come by it honestly. :-\
