Hello everyone!

Dominion of the Unconquered Sun and the Midwest Dagorhir Union are proud to announce that Gates of Summer 8 will be held on April 14-17th in our usual camp-out in Holden Missouri.

Myself and Sir Logan Moore of Lyonnesse are heading up this event and we've got some exciting ideas already in the works. Pre-registration will be open ASAP (I'm shooting for before October but the best laid plans of mice and orks ya know...)

UPDATE: It's been said later in the thread but minimum garb WILL be enforced at this event. All heralds will be on the look-out for it, and you will be kicked off the field until you have passing garb. I know for a fact that several people are bringing spud garb to loan/sell for cheap though so even if you show up to the event with nothing you'll have opportunities to get that fixed right on the sidelines.

SECOND UPDATE: Alright folks, update on the website is that....the website is in limbo due to hosting company stupidity. So if you want to pre-register (And saving money is always a plus) shoot an email over to Dominion@dagorhir.com and we will email you the form and the address to send check/money order payments to. Bonus: If you pre-register, you're saving $5, which can then be put towards the feast on Saturday (Which is going to be delicious I promise). This means that if you pre-register and buy the feast you're only paying $20, which is the same price as showing up and paying at troll.

Why wouldn't you want to do this?

Update: Here's the event schedule as it stands currently

Thursday:
2:30pm - Troll open
8pm - Troll Closes (Tentatively)

Friday:
9am- Troll Opens
10am to 11am - Weapons Check (Melee checked on Friday won't need to be checked again Saturday)
12pm to 5pm - Field Battles
12pm - Assassins Tournament Opens and runs all weekend
6pm to 9pm - Night Fighting
9pm - Troll Closes

Saturday:
9am - Troll Opens
10am to 11am - Weapons Check
11am - Heralds Class/Meeting and Garb Meeting
Tournaments - 11am to 12pm
11:30am to 5pm - Field Battles
Easter Egg Hunt - 1pm in and around the grove
Tea with the Queen - 3pm
6pm - Mags and Lothar's Handfasting
7pm - Bardic and Feast
8pm - Ceremony

Sunday:
10am-12pm - Page and Squire Hunt. I miss this, and I want to bring it back.
All day - Clean up

You @$$holes... I was told that this was supposed to be going on later in the year, like around May or June. While I am glad to see that it IS NOT, I am upset that you guys pick the EXACT dates that I will be going to court to finalize my probation and get off of it. So it looks like I will NOT be attending this event either.

Despite Lizard's lack of attendance (Which really does make me a sad panda buddy

), I'm extremely excited for this event. Got some really good people in the positions to run stuff, and I've been annoying the crap out of them with lots of ideas on things to do on top of that. Fairly certain I'll be strung up at some point by my awesome volunteer team just to get me to shut up.

I was at the first midwestern war council, and I saw how much need there was for manpower and ordinary voulunteers.
