Also, Mud Gates '09 was the SHIZ. Fighting in that mud was AWESOME, the pictures from it were AWESOME. The fact that afterwards I had NO mud above my thighs and almost none on my torso... AWESOME POSSUM!!

Rain fighting separates the real fighters from the min-max fighters. When that water hits your weapon adn it is 3-4times as heavy, you can see who has real skills and who relies on the minimum weights. Not all min-weight fighters lack skill, but you can see a HUGE change on the field when the water gets flowing.

Really want to come to Gates but trying to decide if I should drive or fly to Kansas City...coming from Chicagoland and would be leaving late Thursday afternoon. Looking to see if anyone in my path has room for a rider or needs a ride. If I have people to split costs with driving makes more sense than flying. I would have room for 1-3 people depending on amount and size of weapons you have. My general path would go from NW Chicago to Joliet to Normal to St Louis and then straight West on 70 to Holden.

Byzantium is a solid 2-3 hours out of the way for someone coming from Chicago

Yea. Flew with kat's bow and all my armor to Father Christmas last year. We borrowed arrows, swords and shield from friends on site though, to save on packaging costs.

For Chicago to KC, you're looking at about 10 hours, less actual driving if you can hook up with us here in STL. I'd avoid air travel for events if possible, it's kinda a hassle, and you're limited in what you can bring.

Also, Goats. A good rule of thumb. Ask yourself when you finish typing your post "Is this information sound and informative?" Then ask "If not, is it at least really funny?" If you can't answer yes to one of those, just cancel it. I don't know how many posts I've written, realized they were pointless, and cancelled. Not to mention, if you are going to have to explain one of your posts with "because I'm young and stupid", probably best to just not put it there. Noone likes dumb kids.

True, I just saw the Byzantium realm tag, figured realm mates would be a first option
