Aodhfin spotted Kossak charging the door, and barreled after him. That one soldier wasn't going to be enough for the Dragonwalker's bloodlust...there had to be more past this room.

"Faulk." Father and son said at the same time.

Desperation. Last stand. Kill them all. For Ithilien, hoorah.

Rainen realized he wasn't armored. This was bad. He wouldn't last nearly as long in this fight with only his bracers on. Timmourne had a blackened maille hauberk on, and his limbs were well plated. The Lord Marshal of the RoI drew a war axe from his belt frog and began roaring at the white-clad soldiers, tempting them. Svenrir began roaring too, buying Rainen time as the troops stood freightened a few feet away. Quickly throwing his brigandine over his head and belting it, he ripped his saber out of it's scabbard.

"Rainen. Take this!" Garret threw him a bottle, and he snatched it out of the air jsut before it struck the table next to him. "Drink it!"

Bottoms up.

"Augh, this tastes awful..." Suddenly, his eyes began to itch, terribly itch. He shook his his and shut his eyes for a moment, then opened them again to see his vision heightened and in a new teal tint. Every last detail became as clear as crystal to him.

Timmourne now engaged the first fool tos tep into range of his axe. His head was swiftly hacked in two by a heavy overhand swing. Svenrir began clawing at scared soldiers, tearing their armor like tin. Now it was Rainen's turn.

Snapping his right middle finger and thumb, the young Ranger instantly disappeared in a short burst of blue light, reappearing behind on of the enemy soldiers. He drew his sword across the man's neck, and, without waiting for the body to fall, spin kicked the sword out of his companion's hand. A third one tried to hack at Rainen's mid drift with a low swing, but was quickly felled by a flying corpse Svenrir had sent flying at the man long before Rainen had blinked into them.

This was turning into a mad brawl quickly. Rainen pole vaulted on his saber tip to scissor kick another dazed soldier before making his way back to his father and Svenrir.

"FORM UP, ON ME!" Timmourne shouted at Sir Jack, Garret, Kensii, and Milo. He had a plan.

Spiderling clucked in annoyance at the dragon woman's appearance; he certainly hadn't hoped to meet her again so soon.  Dispatching the last of the few soldiers who had made it so far into the room, he slid in next to Gorbag and Casimir, eyes still on the main crush near the door.

"I must confess this is my first such meeting.  Do all lordly councils end this way?"

Kensii, after escaping a scrape to the back, wobbled over to a group that had stayed away from the fighting.

"I must confess this is my first such meeting.  Do all lordly councils end this way?" he heard Spiderling say.

He replied as he sat down, "In my land they don't. What ever power introduced this turn of events must not have a logical mind about him."

As the fighting ensued and Dralcos took a couple of lives to save his own and his gaurdians, he attempted to make a plan of escape. He could walk through the wall to safety but his allies and friends wouldn't fare so well. If he was gonna save everyone of his friends, he couldn't help but save his enemies as well if he did. Dralcos spoke to his gaurdians, "Shedah thurt dava hurn cada Kossak, shedah arnuut mornitok!" and with that the three earth warriors fought their way over to near Kossak and Svienn.

Once near them but not within 5 paces, Dralcos called out to the two of them over the roar of battle and steal clashing. "Kossak! Svienn! I wish to call a momentary pause to our rivalry to get out of here alive." As he extended his arm and crushed an on rushing man in white's head, and tossed the body into the two just coming in the nearest door, blocking the way for the moment.

"Lord Protector has betrayed all of us for the sake of more lands. With this attempt on our lives I say we live to get back at him another day. I can get us out of here but I need a few moments of better protection so I can force them back long enough to do so. You two in?" Parrying an oncoming attacker as he awaited an answer from the men of chaos.

A loud, pop-like snap sounded through the room, as a large oak plank was ripped clear of the heavy door. With a snarl, the half-dragon-woman decapitated the first man she saw through the door and tossed his head aside, before throwing open the main-doors.
"This way!" Jack shouted, slowly falling back.
The half-dozen guards stationed outside the doors were already occupied with Jack's two warriors and were caught unawares as the furious half-dragon plowed through them effortlessly. Caught in her rage, she drew back one of her claws to slash at the remaining two combatants, Jack's men.
"Elune!" He shouted at her to stop, a flash of realization flickered past her eyes, "She's with me!" He shouted to his men.
Without another word, one of the warriors threw Jack his axe and drew his own short-sword. Now with a proper weapon, Jack could hold the doorway at least long enough to allow the others to escape...

Right as the fighting started a man wearing a cloak with a deep hood and a clasp in the shape of a dragon coiled around an owl.  He was a bit over six feet tall, and had broad shoulders.  It could also be seen that he liked a good meal.

He paused for a moment but then drew a single sword from under his cloak and leapt into the fray with a slash to the legs to the first person to attack him.

He then fought his way over to the man he had heard named as timmourne.    He fought with the skill of someone who had a sense of the weapon they were using but it was clear he was no experienced fighter.

The leather armor on his arms and torso and the gloves stopped caught a few hits that otherwise would have been harmful.  His hood managed to stay on though his battle across the room.

When he reached Timmourne He heard Timmourne shout "FORM UP ON ME"

As the hooded man slashed down a soldier in white who was attacking Timmourne's back he said "Havin fun yet, I thought this was a meeting, not a blood bath?"

Then the sound of a large wooden plank being ripped from the from sounded throughout the room

"What now?" Casimir asked. "well," the golem said, "it's my guess that we were all gathered here to try and take out some of the more dangerous individuals that have been slaughtering people all across the land. If we sit here, calmly, like civilized people, I think we won't have to deal with any of these mindless white warriors."

When the Umbarian representative sat down and asked them of the commonality of this violent result, Gorbag laughed without humor and said, "With this crowd, yes." As he replied, another newcomer approached them and informed the group of his homelands custom of not letting meetings devolve into senseless slaughter. "I don't know if this was a completely illogical turn of events. Look around the room and tell me how many individuals here could not be tried for murder or pillaging or a long list of other crimes? Would you not eliminate them all at once if you could?"

Kensii was tying cloth around his bleeding wounds when Gorbag responded. He huffed out in a raspy painful voice, "I see your point. Maybe the Lord Protector has not betrayed us. Maybe he has entrusted us with this. I just do not wish to act foolishly or dishonorably."

Kensii looked around and wondered how could he, a mere man, take on such creatures?

Spiderling dropped his voice low enough so only Kensii could hear, his eyes still fixed on the fighting.

"My Lord Kensii, since the others seem to have this situation in hand for the moment, I would speak with you in confidence.  This man who spoke against me, Jack Stewart, is not unknown to me.  This is not the first time he has leveled slanderous accusations against my brotherhood, nor produced forged documents supposedly validating his claims.  The man has, for whatever reason, taken it upon himself to wage a personal crusade against us, though we do him no ill.  I will be blunt: we have largely been in hiding, and had ensured he and his followers did not know we reside in Umbar.  With this meeting, that is undone, and I fear for the safety not only of my brothers, but the people of Umbar at large; the last time I met him, he attacked me and the brothers with me in a town square in broad daylight, with his dragon companion and a band of orcish mercenaries in tow.  To my everlasting shame, only I escaped the bloodbath, and that just barely.  They attacked without regard for the safety of the innocent crowd, and yet somehow still walk free.  I know not what power this Jack commands to escape justice so, but I fear we must now flee Umbar to prevent further bloodshed.  My Lord, I beg this of you: I know Rokugan's borders are closed save to trade, but please ask your lord, the wise and esteemed Tokugawa, to allow us asylum in his land.  We would not wander or conduct missionary work therein, but only take refuge there until the storm of this man's wanton wrath turns upon another target, or justice is done upon him.  My brothers can fight, but we are no military band, and asking any ruler to fend off dragons is too much.  Jack knows we have no access to Rokugan and will not seek us there.  Would you do this?  Would you intercede with your lord on our behalf?  We are poor, but have a little gold we can offer in tribute to his Eminence the Shogun."

Casimir smirked at Gorbag's words, 'Civilized?' he thought to himself, toying with the word's meaning in his head.  In all of his time in these lands he had not once been described as by that word, despite his best efforts.  He nodded to the war machine and leaned back in his seat, exhaling sharply and speaking, "That I can do."
The robed man slid up next to them in the most sinister manner and asked a question to which Gorbag replied, the goblin then adding "And to think, I brought weapons in concealed when I could have marched in with an storeroom's worth," his words aided be a gesture of his hand as if to display all of the "diplomats" whom were armed to the teeth.  That same hand then reached into his robe and pulled out a bronze knife with a blade of about eight inches, handing it to Gorbag.  "If you need it," he spoke, crossing his arms and leaning back a bit in his chair.

Grabbing another bottle of wine, Milo ducks out of a side door and into an open garden lovingly maintained and cared for. Flowers and trees from across the land sweeten the air and shade the ground, the grass soft and thick. Finding a shady spot in an out of the way corner Milo settles down for a short nap.

Sveinn grinned at the new hulking plant things as they came to aid. He realized the door was now open and decided it was time to stop playing games. He switches his mindset and began ruthlessly slaying those that approached him. His Daemonic blade hissing as it cut through armor with ease, blood seeming to be absorbed by the steel. With Kossak's and the Elemental's help, Sveinn began clearing a path to the door. Over here the conversation of those seated, he shouted towards them over the sound of combat.

"We have not allowed the enemy to reach you just yet. Instead of waiting in uncertainty over the intent of this attack, I suggest you follow us out of the city. Mind you, this is a rare offer. As you know, my kind are not known for our kindness. But this is an not a honorable fight, something even the Chaos Gods value. Follow us out so it can become one."

The one Magus that accompanied Sveinn began to clear the rest of the room with his magiks. Sending dark lances of light through the remaining soldiers in the room, causing them to fall armor unscathed but pools of blood quickly seeping form within the armor. As the Magus cast his spells, the air felt similar to when Sveinn cast his spell.

The group was holding off more from entering. Sveinn taking this moment to cut free the armored soldier in the smoldering suit. The man was still alive, but burnt hideously. The Warmaster lifted him out of the armor and laid him on the ground face down, all against the horrid pleads of pain. Sveinn placed his shield against the poor souls back, and chains formed from the metal and lashed the burnt soldier to it. Hefting up his shield with ease, Sveinn took the front of the group holding off the new coming soldier. With the sight of their fallen brother, some of the enemy soldiers vomited beneath their helms and stopped in their tracks. The rest were thrown into a fit of rage where they charged heedlessly into the group, each being cut down easily.

Jack and his few men secured the doorway, their prowess and experiance was clearly more than that of mere bodyguards. Nevertheless, three men were barely enough to hold the breach, let alone push back a steady stream of fresh fighters. Meanwhile, the woman had resumed her former form and now vigilantly kept watch over their route of escape.

He looked to Jack and his men with a grin, happy to see others fighting as furiously as Sveinn's own party.

Gorbag took the knife from Casimir and tested its blade and balance. It fit nicely in his hand and easily cut open his hand. "I understand your game now, I hire you to protect me so you give me a blade and tell me to do it myself. I like your thinking." He accompanied this statement with a smile, he knew he had picked a good companion for this venture.

He heard Kensii's musings but chose to ignore them for the time being. The boy was too concerned with the views of others.

He reclined in his chair and watched the fight. Miraculously, the diplomats were slaughtering everything in the room despite being taken completely by surprise and having no real plan to defend themselves as a group before the attack began. The golem remained reclined as the two diplomats beside him spoke and as the Chaos warrior addressed the entire group.

"There's a certian safety in numbers but I think I like my odds better trying to sidestep this fight rather than trying to meet it head on."

Kossak stood his ground against a small flood of troopsm. Maces,  swords, and spears clanged off his armor.  One such shot spun him around and as he whipped back around his eyes were glowing a bright orange.

"Go, these fools are mine!"  Sveinn unleashed a torrent of dark energy into their midst singing many of their white robes and stunning them, "For the Dark Gods!"

Kossak ran into their group with his sword raises high and blood dripping from its edge.  Their was a soft cooing sound coming from the star metal, the daemon entity inside savage with a millennia of bloodlust and craving.

There was so much happening at once. In one moment Kensii heard an unfamiliar voice call his name and saw a figure run out of the room then a second later he was listening to the plight of the people of Umbar and even then a moment later the room seemed to explode in acts of magic and power. It was entirely too much for Kensii but he had heard and seen enough.

He turned to Spiderling and said, "Rokugan has a southern most island just east of Ithilien. Head there. My personal guard will be there to escort you. If a single Umbarian steps onto another island of Rokugan we will kill you all." After making that clear, he put fingers to his mouth and let out a loud whistle. The room fell silent. "Look at you all! Have you even thought about why you were attacked? What will you do when you run out of enemies? Will your battle lust be satisfied? The Lord Protector obviously sought to get you to fight amongst yourselves! Look at your enemies, they flee! Are you so sick and vile that you enjoy killing such unworthy opponents? we need to get out of here and return to our lands! It seems that the nations of this land can not come together without someone seeking to kill them. I suggest you ask yourself who you all angered!" Kensii was shouting at this point as the room fell silent again. The soldiers in white had fled.

Kensii nodded at Spiderling and simply walked out the side door to a garden where he saw the alchemist sleeping, he couldn't help but grin. He was going home before he got killed.

With none of their foes left standing, Jack eased, but only slightly. "Go home?" Jack asked rhetorically, "I don't know about the rest of you, but this was an act of war!" Jack was not shouting, but he was damned close, "Convince us to come to this assembly under the guise of peaceful debate, then to attack us? I don't know how politics are done in your lands, but in mine, whomever orchestrated such an act would be hung for war-crimes!" He paused for but a moment to take in the other's reactions', "I call for the right of vengence. Who would join me, and march upon this 'Lord Protector'?"

Spiderling nodded humbly in thanks as Kensii stood.  His face remained impassive, but inside he was brimming with vile glee.  Fool, he thought, you invite your own destruction.  Your guards will feel my sting, and then all of Rokugan will be open to me, and still closed to my enemies.

Spiderling watched Jack make an impassioned cry for revenge, then stood, put away his swords, nodded politely to Gorbag and Casimir in turn, and headed for the door.

"For my part, I will follow the representative from Rokugan's example.  I am neither lord nor soldier, and though I will ensure the Umbarian government is made aware of what transpired here, it is a matter for them to settle, not me."

He wove his way through the crowd of attendees, brazenly walking directly past Jack but avoiding Elune.

"I bid you all a good day, safe travels, and for those who stay to fight, good luck.  The Great Lady be with you."

He swept out of the room and the hall, pausing for a moment to marvel at the alchemist sleeping in the garden before stepping behind a building to remove his too-obvious robes, revealing the nondescript peasant's clothing underneath.  He stuffed the robes into a sack and hurried off, quickly joining the inconspicuous group of disguised cultists he had left waiting.

"We move for Rokugan.  Make ready.  Oh, and you: keep these scrolls well hidden.  Learn to forge the signatures and seals on them.  I may have use for them later..."

Within moments they were gone.

((Spiderling, I applaud your ability to play to my character's weaknesses. I look forward to seeing where this goes.  ;D))

The Lord Protector was running through a corridor in the castle at this point. He underestimated his targets, gravely. It was no matter. The seeds of war had been sown. His master would be happy with this result.

As the Lord Protector ran down into a deep dungeon, he had escaped the warriors and had come to his Master's chambers. He stopped in front of the door and caught his breath. He composed himself and walked in. There sat a large throne in the center of a circular room. On it sat a being cloaked in darkness. The Lord Protector knelt before it and said, "My lord, the seeds of war are implanted in the leaders and warriors of this world."

"Where will it begin?" asked the dark and twisted voice.

"I am not sure, but with those men it could be anywhere."

"Very well. I am pleased. You have done what I have asked of you, Juruda. Unfortunately for you, I have no more use of you." The being said as a tendril of darkness jetted from his body and decapitated the Lord Protector. The being laughed manically, the land was as good as his.

((I know, crappy ending but it had to happen. Dismiss your characters yourself. I will be working on the next thread here tomorrow. What is going to happen next? Be careful of the enemies you made during the council. For those of you who didn't make any enemies, prepare to choose sides. Or at least prepared to be hired. lol ))

"Go home? Faulk, sure, why not? We didn't want to really be here in the first place, and now this happens. Who is this Lord Protector? I need to grind his name into our book of grudges. Expect Kashan warriors here by the end of this week, this is war. RoI out." Rainen said, spitting on a corpse of one of the guards. Timmourne wrenched his axe free of a breastplate and stood next to his son for a moment before they headed out. Svenrir followed close behind until they made it to the gate, they mounted, and the Ithilienese were off.

((sheesh, i go out for a movie night with my girl and then look what happens XD ))

Dralcos having survived, despite his efforts to make a temporary truce with Kossak and Svienn, Dralcos and his two gaurdians walked away almost unscathed. A few chunks of bark or stone missing out of each gaurd and a few sap drips on Dralcos himself.

Walking in on his fellow council members in a sort of meeting down the hall, he heard the last of Jack's statements. "I agree with you there."

"This lord protector should be dealt with quickly, before too many of the lords we all live near decide to take this to our homes after hearing the news, and we will likely be hunted by them as well.  But can we agree on one thing?" looking around to his council survivors, "That this lord must die?"

((Dralcos will stay with the group if it stays together for a while, his warriors are numerous and can handle their own, most of which have part of his powers so they will be tough either way. ))

The hooded man who showed up late and ran to Rainen son of Timmourne, follows him and his father out.    Once they are outside, he introduces himself.  "I am Randern.  I am a wanderer hailing from a small town.  i have traveled a while but only recently have i started using a blade.  I was hoping to travel with you and learn from your culture.  It is what i like to do, and i love the woods so i thought i may be able to learn from you and your people"

He says all this with out ever taking off his hood.

Kossak turned to Sveinn, "these were pathetic offerings.  I will return home to Be'Lakor, alert my generals to change the direction of the Black Crusade...within the next week thousands of of the City of Skull's warriors will VW landing on these shores."

He resheathed his blade, it growled as it was confined again."  Rainen, elemental...I have a feeling we shall be meeting again soon."

He looked at the others letting his malice flow freely and memorizing each face before storming out the door.

((Rangern. Use quotation marks, please. Your question may not receive a nice answer, but it's nothing personal.))

Rainen looked down at the man from atop Svenrir's back. He was a good six feet down from the Ranger, and he couldn't really see the man's face due to his hood. An insult.

"Bare your face when you speak to me, and let me see your hands." Rainen growled through shut teeth.

"I am sorry, boy, but there are few exceptions for our country. No one gets in. Unless we feel the need to take you prisoner for torture, you may not come with us. Go find another path. Not the one my son and I share." Timmourne said from atop his own great Wolf, Vhor Kasha Ausvirn. Ausvirn was more than twenty feet tall at the shoulder and towered over Svenrir. The two Kashan Wolves growled at the hooded man and bared their fangs at him, the sickly long daggerlike fangs that Kashan have.

Be gone. Ausvirn's grizzled voice rang out inside the man's head, seemingly punching holes in his eardrums. Though it was all in his head, the pain was very real, and he thought he might be sick.

The Wolves turned their backsides to him and began at a long legged trot to the north, leaving the man in the dust as the riders looked grimly onward, pondering the war ahead.

Randern fell to his knees as he felt a pain in his head, yet he stood up and pulled his hands from his cloak but leaving his hood up and yelled back with a bit of an edge to his voice "There was no need for that Rainen, I was just asking a friendly question.  Soooorrryy that i didn't think to reveal my hands to you ooooohhhhhh GGGreat annnddd MMigghtty brat!" The last sentance dripping with sarcasm.   and then He yelled even loader almost as an after thought "Oh and i don't make it a habit of reveling my face to those who do not already know me!"

(( oh and Rainen no biggy but its Randern not Rangern.  I figure it was just a typo but i thought i would point it out.))

Jack merely stared at the exchange, though none but himself would've noticed thanks to his helm, save the slight shaking of his head. The dragon-woman that accompanied him had returned to her human form and stood at his side, with his pair of warriors.
"I would watch that tongue of yours." Jack said matter-of-factly, "Either of those wolves could've easily taken you. They're not much more tame than a drake."
Suddenly, the woman's intense silver eyes were glaring at him - his jeer had not gone unnoticed. His two guards recoiled, he did not. For several moments they both stood their ground.
Luckily for you, I am not a dragon.  This mental voice, unlike that of the dire-wolves, was smooth and soft, though no less commanding.
"You know of my forebear, Edwin. He tamed a dragon." Jack bosted, before a sly grin, "You know I'd mount and ride you..."
For that you die...  The voice said menacingly.
The three men fled down the stairs, but before they were completely out of shouting distance, one of his men was heard shouting;
"...Why must you always provoke her!?"

((My apologies, Randern. I'm so used to typing 'Ranger' that the two intermingled in my head.))

Svenrir came to a full halt at the man's shout at his blood brother atop his back.

Hold your tongue, naive fool! I shall crush you into the Earth where you stand! This time, the Wolf's mental roar was crushing inside his head. A wave of nausea and sickness came over him, sending him to his knees. He could barely make out the figures in the distance, the one high now perched atop his Wolf with a bow. A moment later, a Sylvan shaft came crunching into the ground only a few inches ahead of his pelvic area.

"You've been warned!" Rainen shouted at him, standing atop Svenrir with his bow firmly in his left gloved hand. He had made an easy shot look easier at only 45 Kashan paces. He then sat back down in the saddle, tying his legs in, and they rode once more into the distance.

"Rainen, elemental...I have a feeling we shall be meeting again soon."

Dralcos gave a slight nod towards Kossak as he left. Him and his guards watched the leader of the Chaos legions walk away, like so many times before.

Under his breath, Dralcos commented, "And too soon it shall be Chaos Lord Kossak. Too soon . . . "

As the wanderer, having made such a 'great' first impression with the rangers, had an arrow land at his feet, and Dralcos walked up behind him. "If you 'had' watched the meeting then you would know that the rangers are a very proud people. Just wanting to join up with them will likely get you shot with silvan steel, it's rare they trust anyone until said someone has earned their friendship." Dralcos held out an arm to the man, "What was your name again?"

Gritting through the pain in his head Randern replied to the new creature behind him "I did not see the meeting for i arrived as the fighting began.  I am not skilled though and i believed the rangers looked to be good fighters and good people, plus that big mutt at first interested me."  saying mutt admiration masked by a hurt sense of pride. "My name is Randern, and you are right i seem to have gotten off to a poor start with the rangers, maybe i can fix that one day.  I am sorry who and what are you?" Randern finished with a more than a bit or curiosity and confusion in his voice.

Sensing the curiousity and bewilderment in the mans voice, Dralcos eased him into getting to know what he was. "I am Dralcos Singol, The Swamp King and God sent Elemental."

"Yes the Rangers of Ithilien take a good long time to get used to another's presence among them. It came naturally that my people and the rangers became friends, they are friendly to nature, and thus we don't have to hurt them. It's a good arrangement we have." Looking around, "Now as to your travel arrangements, would you be interested in seeing my homeland? We may be able for you to have another chance meeting with the rangers, hopefully on a better note than today, and even my own can help you out if you wished for some sparring practices."

((Dreadmire is my 'HQ' and homeland, while all forests are home and country, Dreadmire is where it all began. ))

" Well Dralcos that sounds like an awesome idea.  I get to travel with a God sent elemental, and learn about you, and i get  another chance with the rangers.  Plus i have never been to your homeland before, sounds good. Lets go."  At this point he reaches out his hand , and also drops his hood.  You see a generally normal looking human face, but you also think you see the slightest hint of green on it.

((Dracos, we can say that Dreadmire is south of Ithilien. So join the Defense of Ithilien thread. Randern, if your teaming up with Dralcos, then you too.))

The demonic being sat wrapped in seething darkness as he watched his pawn move into their places. It starts in Ithilien. If Grimmer succeeds then war will be imminent. If not, then at least he will have ruffled some feathers. I sense Rokugan is in the throws of danger but not of my doing. I like that. Finally, these pesky chaos lords must be dealt with. Those will pose a threat. The best part? All these lands will be brought to their knees. Not a drop of blood will be spilled. The being called for a servant and a young frightened man walked in and stared at the ground meekly.

"Go and fetch me a mercenary or two. I have a job."

"Who sh-shall I fetch m-my lord?" the young man stuttered.

"Anyone will do. Here, hand them this paper if they accept the job." He handed the boy a scroll.

The young man walked out of the room and wondered if his old lord knew any mercs. He set up his horse and traveled to the Realm of Guilder. There he was in a grand reception hall. It had been some time since he worked here under Administrator Gorbag. The young man set and appointment with the busy man and when he finally got his appointment he walked in and sat down, looking at the floor. He said in a very shy voice, "G-gorbag it has been a while. Remember me? My name is Junoth. I was here in Guilder for a time. I served in this very hall as your assistant. Well, now I serve a rich Lord and he has asked me to find a Mercenary and I do not know where to look. You wouldn't happen to have a Mercenary band as a contact would you?"

Gorbag was shuffling some papers around on his desk when Junoth entered. He finished arranging the piles so he could tell what he had to do, what needed to be done, and what he could ignore for awhile longer. He snapped to attention when the young man spoke, he hadn't really been aware of what was going on around him at first.

"Junoth...the name sounds familiar...I have had a number of assistants so I hope you'll excuse my faulty memory. It is good to know that those that have served under me have done well for themselves afterwards.

"Mercenaries, eh? I know of a few. Do you have any specifics that you can give me so that I might better direct you to an appropriate group?"

Before the young man could speak though, the most adorable bear in the history of existence fell on him with its exceptionally padded and hard bottom, stunning him for a good minute. The golem laughed loudly as Junoth tried to right himself and then stopped quickly.

"Perhaps it's a sign that I've been in this office too long if I found that small act of violence so apealing. Maybe I'll take this job myself. Go on and tell me what you can about it."

Junoth saw the bear and cringed as memories came back to him of that, that thing. Noe of them were his memories but still the stories were there.

'Well, I know nothing I was told to hand this to anyone interested." He pulled out the scroll and handed it to Gorbag.

The scroll read: My name is Lord Montegrew, I am head of House Montegrew in a small town north of Fauldenfell. I was unable to attend the Council of Grievances and am seeking someone to go to the City of Skulls in Be'Lakor to right the wrongs against my house. The Chaos Lords Kossak and Sveinn murdered my son and I seek either their death or monetary reparations. The pay will be good, about 2 years worth of soldier's salary and I will even grant you a portion of demesne in my manor. If you accept send word back with my servant and leave at once.

Gorbag read the words quickly but carefully. This offer intrigued him but he was unsure of it. Invading the City of Skulls by himself? And he didn't really need the money or land. "Casimir couldn't have gotten far..." he mumbled to himself. More clearly he said, "Tell your master that myself and possibly a few of my associates will be taking on this venture and we will be leaving as soon as we have sufficiently prepared."

At the same time, he called in one of his many underlings and sent them off to find his goblin acquaintance. Looking back at Junoth he informed him, "We should be leaving within the day."

Let the powers of darkness tremble, for The Most High God has risen in his wrath. Behold, He sends out His armies against them for the sake of them that love Him, and for the glory of His Great Name. As they go forth, their battle cry resounds in the Heavenlies: "For the Saints of God, and the Lamb!

Junoth bowed a quick bow and said, "I will let my lord know immediately." Junoth began walking out but turned about halfway to the door and said, "It is probably not my place but, my lord has acted rather strange lately. When I first came into his service a few months ago he was generous and kind. He has become cold and calculated. I would be careful on your journey. May whatever god your worship protect you." Junoth then turned and left the room.

The journey was not a long one. Only about a day's hard ride. Junoth walked into the familiar chamber where his lord sat encased in darkness. He knelt and said, "It has been done my Lord. Gorbag has agreed to the work you hired him to do. If I may ask, why are you seeking the life of the Chaos Lords?"

"That is my business alone. Now, begone. I will call if I need you again." The dark voice answered.

"Yes my lord..."

((Amadeaus, make sure Spiderling knows this and if you are following him go to the Invasion of Rokugan thread.))

As the rangers and Spiderling...
You are able to duplicate yourself?
I know it is him...
And how is it that you know that Miss Cleo?
depart, I follow invisibly, signaling my followers to acompony us.
How do you signal them while you are invisible?  They can't see you if you are invisible, so do you make noise, therefor alerting whoever you are following?  And for that matter, how are you invisible?
