Grimmer walked down the stairs to the common area filled with Rangers. He sat at the table where he sat the night before and asked for breakfast before tossing two coins toward the inn keeper. He sat and ate in silence. His work would begin today. Now, where is Silvca?

"Go ahead, I'll wait out here, I've no stomach for eating 'my' kind of food right now." As he went back and leaned on the wall of the inn between the door and the front window.

"Breakfast is even on me," tossing Randern three coins, "I don't need 'em anyways." as he chuckled lightly to himself thinking of what he called 'food' and watching a couple of young kids run by.

((btw, would we be meeting up with that female ranger again as an escort to the keep? or once inside they just let us be? if they were suspiscious of randern i'd think they would want eyes on him just in case, especially in this time so close to war.))

Randern went inside bought a loaf of bread, some cheese, and a glass of mead, then kept the change, and met back up with Dralcos.   between bites of bread and cheese Randern said to Dralcos "Lets go (num num) whats the plan (slurp) how do i look? (num num slurp)"

((screw it, if they're watching they'll be in the shadows lol ))

"That was fast, and you've looked better." he said chuckling. Lifting himself off of the siding. "And as for a plan it'd likely be best we head for the keep, Rainen and family may be friends with nature but they still sure like their solid walls around them." as he started walking that way, "I don't blame them, helps them feel important or at least more than the savage beasts that lurk their woods every night."

Aodhfin lay asleep in the bed, snoring away happily. He wasn't exhausted, as much as he was just sleeping in a bed. He liked beds. Now if only he could dream something happy, to go with the happy feeling bed, as opposed to nightmarish visions or blackness.

Duncan went downstairs into the inn's gathering hall, that served as a tavern most of the time. He briefly caught sight of a cloaked man nearly running out, to which he cocked an eyebrow - he could only assume that the man must've been a trader. Aside from the innkeeper, there was only one man downstairs, who sat in a corner and ate in silence. This man did not appear to be from Ithilien, though from where he hailed from Duncan had no idea. He decided to leave the man to himself.

Duncan went up to the innkeeper and with a smile enquired as to breakfast*, hoping the bread was done and if they perchance had any cider warming? Though he didn't smell any, he dared to hope. Oh, how he could go for some ham, or bacon this morning, after eating salted beef on the road for weeks! He wondered to himself just how much it would cost him to feed his men a day in Ithilien, for all he had were a few rods of silver, which he hoped to be enough... In all reality he knew that without knowing the going rates in the region, it would be useless to even guess.

*Both for him and his men.

With the giant safely (or as safely ad could be) pacified, the warriors and handlers made their way tontheir areas of the barracks.  Radok and Clanic had no need of sleep however, the Chosen of the gods being passed that.  Instead Radok went to a large cleared out room he found one story down and drew his blade, swinging wildly and with what seemed like reckless abandon to the untrained eye.  With closer inspection though it could be told that there was a method behind each movement.

Clanic, still in his fanciful and disturbing robes, strode out into the village.  As quickly as he could he made his way back to the large doors and asked the sentries,  "is Captain Rainen available to speak with Clanic?"

Grimmer saw a young man walk in and walk back out after buying some food. Then shortly after another strange looking man came downstairs. When the fellow went to inn keeper he heard him ask of cider and smiled. This man was not from Ithilien. Grimmer got up, smiled in his usual mask and sat down at the bar next to the man. "Didn't think I would ever see another foreigner. Ithilien must be busy this time of year. My name is Grimmer. I figure in such a hospitable land," Grimmer's voiced dripped in sarcasm, "we foreigners should stick together. What do you say, uh, whats your name again?"

Duncan looked over the man from head to toe, before he reconsidered his initial conclusion. He no longer believed him to be a trader, something told him that a trader would know more of his clients. The Irishmen turned slightly towards the man, his maille gently rapping upon the bar. Surely the man would've seen the man's sword and shield upon his back, and most probibly the ax upon his waist. Duncan was honestly surprised that the man would approach one so heavily armed...
"The name's Duncan. Commander Duncan McDeign 'a the Green Hilted Swords." He extended Grimmer a maille'd leather gauntlet, made of dark-green leather. Actually upon inspection, Duncan had quite a lot of green leather; sword hilts, ax handles, shield loops, belts, shoes. A lot. Duncan figured the best way to assertain the man's 'angle' was to get him talking. After all, what could it hurt for him to know his name? "The rangers giving you a hard time? First time in Ithil'n too?"

Grimmer looked around and said, "You could call it that. I have lost count of the times a blade has been to my throat. Yes, 'tis my first time in these woods and I must say there is no shortage of ways to die." Just then two steaming bowls of egg, meat, and bread were put in front of them. "On the other hand, the food is absolutely marvelous." Grimmer dived into his bowl.

Zane stopped. There stood the Chaosman in his robes, talking to the keep's sentries. He studied the man, catching the last part of his sentence.

Why does he speak as if he wasn't himself?

Zane had never needed to give his name to guards or sentries, for everyone knew him.

Whatever the man was there for, Zane didn't care at the time. He walked closer to the doors, flashing his dogtags and a big grin to the sentries, who opened the gate just enough to let him through. He strode deeper into the fortress, looking for his brother.

Clanic watched the other ranger walk into the keep and continued to stare at the sentry in front of him, "I assure you, I mean you no harm and wish only to speak with your master."

"Something tells me that you're from the city, are yea not?" Duncan skewered a hardboiled egg with a three tined fork, before taking a bite from it, "Let me guess, you're a scholar in the kingdom to the west, what's it called...Goondoor? Damn, I cannot pronounce the names of any of these dang places!" He shook his head before devouring the rest of the egg...

Grimmer smiled again, "No, I am not from Middle Earth. I am from a country far to the west. The country of *muffled word*." Grimmer said his homeland at the same time as a bite of egg was shoveled into his mouth. Sorry my friend. Not gonna know where I am from. He swallowed, "Its a good home. Of course, the weather can be quite erratic." He finished his bowl and belched a long hearty tone. Grimmer looked around and thought, Its already been an hour. Where is she?

((Sorry guys. Real life comes first. Kossak, I'll post for Clanic in a bit after this one.))

--The inn--

The barkeep was keeping a close ear on the two foreigners, though he faced the other way; cleaning tankards by hand with a cloth. He looked up only when the back door to the kitchen swung open, revealing a tall and slender woman in RoI gear step inside. She nodded to the barkeep and gave him a faint smile- as close as a friendly exchange could get. She approached the bar and propped her elbows up in front of Gimmer and Duncan. Her armor clanked against the wood of the counter, and her dogtags nearly swung right into Grimmer's arms.

"Morning gents." She said gruffly, looking her charge up and down. Silvca knew she was late, but she didn't care. She was getting paid either way, and now had an excuse to visit home. She had taken care to get into ALL of her gear that morning, not wanting to leave anything behind in the barracks. She even sported pauldrons, seemingly won off of a Gondorian officer. The plate showed a thick patina of rust from disuse. She yawned slightly, hiding her mouth with a thickly gloved hand. He hair was bound up in the back and set into braids on the sides. Silvca seemed ready to ride... not walk.

"I'd like it very much to get an early start. My companion for the trip- and our shared protection- is getting impatient waiting outside." She loved to tease.

((I didn't mean to push you, sorry. No worries real life does matter first.))

Grimmer looked the woman, You know, for a homicidal maniac she is quite good looking in that armor. Wait, Grimmer you have a wife, stop it now. He smiled at the irony of her words and stood. "Ah, yes wouldn't want to keep him any longer." They began to walk out when Grimmer turned back to the man he had ate breakfast with and said, "I do not know where you are headed but we ride for the capital, you are welcome to join. If you wish." He didn't wait for the man's answer before turning to the door.

((S'okay. Just being a bit 'derpy' here in Ithilien lately.))

--The inn--

"Him?" She laughed a low, haunting laugh. Thumping him on the back slightly, she opened the door to the front of the inn and walked out. As Grimmer took several steps into the morning light, before him stood a massive Wolf. It's fur a pale white, as white as snow. Silvca smiled wryly with mischief.

"I had no intention of misleading you, Grimmer, but we will ride to Tiavhan Hold. Not walk. This is Persvirn vhor Kashe. She is my life bonded partner and Kashan Wolf of Ithilien. I am, as most put it, her 'rider'."

The great Wolf shifted to a standing position and leaned her nose close to the man's face, sniffing him. A slight tinge echoed inside his head.

He smells funny. The Wolf said telepathically to both Silvca and Grimmer, giving a sharp canine smile. Persvirn had a large collection of straps and pouches about her midsection, tied onto a rough leather saddle. It seemed as if three men could fit easily on it.

((Persvirn is eighteen human years old, putting her roughly around twenty feet tall, and thirty feet long. Unlike Rainen's Svenrir, she has a stark white coat, being of a more reclusive breed. Silvca herself is in her early twenties. She's a Second Lieutenant in the RoI, indicated by her dogtags with a single bar and chevron. Surprising enough?))

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--The keep (gate)--

"The good Captain isn't here at the moment, sir. You'll find him making his way towards where the Knight's are being lodged with Kasha vhor Svenrir." The Sentinel's face paled as he looked upon the Chaosman, wondering what he might do at the news...

His partner stiffened and saluted as Zane walked by in his usual, oblivious state.

"Lieutenant! Your brother just left, sir! You may want to double back to the courtyard!" He shouted down the corridor after the young man, unsure if he heard him or not.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--The village (Some random road or some such ****)--

Svenrir's stride was a slow and leisurely one. The Ranger on his back was half asleep and still groggy. Rainen had to push himself that morning, no more than two hours ago, to get into his full gear. He looked as if he was ready for heavy combat, wearing ALL of his armor. From head to toe, brigandine and leather covered his person. He tied his full helm to the saddle pommel and had his armored legs strapped into it. The slipknots on the sides kept him from flying off Svenrir during a charge or particularly hard riding. Svenrir hated the saddle, as most Wolves did, but it kept the Ranger alive. Though, in his own opinion, they could ride just fine with him gripping his mane.

Folks passing by either saluted, sneered, or bowed their heads. An odd medley of all three. Rainen paid little attention, focusing on something itching his right index finger inside his heavy leather gauntlet.

I love my job...

Aodhfin stirred, finally deciding it was time to get out of the bed. Of course, this saddened him, as the bed was REALLY comfortable. Ah well, it couldn't be helped. He dressed quickly, pulling on his black tunic and pants, then donning his armor. The pauldrons felt a bit loose, so he tightened them, noting that the white skull on the left pauldron and the runes on the rest of his armor seemed to be brighter than usual. He wondered if it was because of the arrival of the other followers of Chaos....his armor always seemed to react oddly to the presence of Chaos. He shrugged, putting such thoughts in the back of his mind for later. For now, he needed to see what condition the...morning? afternoon? was in. He obviously hadn't been summoned, or woken up, so the hold was probably in one piece still. Or, relatively so, considering Rainen's reputation when it came to Kossak's followers. He strapped his sword belt over lower armor, then slung his shield over his shoulder so it hung loosely behind him. Lastly, he took his longsword and shortsword, sliding them into their scabbards on the left and right of his belt, respectively. Opening the door, he exited, searching for Rainen or whoever else he might run into.

The ranger-lass walked in from the kitchen before them and planted herself before Grimmer, elbows-first upon the counter. Despite her armor, not all of which appeared to be Ithilien, she appeared quite fair - albeit impatient. He was only slightly surprised by her presence, women within the armies of the Neigemont are not uncommon, though he knew other peoples forbid women from fighting. After some of the women-warriors he had met over the years, Duncan knew why - if there were more of them, he'd be out of a job!
"I am sorry Grimmer, but I have duties to attend to here." He motioned towards the first of his knights wandering down the stairs as he finished off his sandwich, "Barkeep? I'll settle our bill this eve whence I return." Duncan nodded dismissively.
By the time he turned around, the lass had all but pulled Grimmer out of the inn. Partly out of curiousity, and partly because he too had matters to attend to, Duncan followed well behind the pair, out of the inn. However, he could not hear what she was saying to him...until he too was nearly blinded by the morning light.
"...to Tiavhan Hold. Not walk. This is Persvirn vhor Kashe..." Duncan, oblivious to his surroundings wondered whom she was talking about? Did rangers ride horses?
"So rangers ride horses too...Goodness!" Duncan started, though did not move, as he saw the large wolf before him, "Forgive me." Duncan placed his hand over his heart and deeply bowed before the wulf. After a moment, he rose and spoke, "Persvirn? Does that mean you'r Faolmhor, uh Kasin...a kin with Svenrir?"

Grimmer had been so occupied waiting for Duncan that when he came out and reacted suddenly Grimmer was confused. Then a voice imprinted itself into his mind. He began to panic inside. He smiled as he usually did, it was his mask after all. He turned to Silvca and saw her sitting astride an enormous wolf. Mentally, he lost it. What is that! How is that even possible! She is riding it, is it friendly? DO I HAVE TO RIDE IT? His smile still persisted except now there was a slight twitch. "I uh, that is, we are doing what again? Oh riding yeah, on...giant...wolf." His voice trailed. He looked up at Silvca and heaved a hard sigh before walking toward the wolf and awkwardly climbing on. "My wife will never believe this." After Silvca and Duncan exchanged pleasantries the pair bolted off while Grimmer clung to Silvca for dear life. His journey to capital was finally underway...

Dralcos felt eyes on him and even more on Randern but they still walked for the keep and wasn't long before more guards brought their attenion to the pair. Dralcos pulled out his safety net and let the tag hang freely outside of the leather vest he had on. The gaurds, mostly lower level rangers, or student and master pairs, then let them be and pass without concern . . . maybe a little glance at Randern but nothing much beyond that.

As Randern finished his morning meal they reached the main square just down the street from the keep walls. Dralcos was going to say something smart or wity, but he quickly closed his mouth as he sensed a wolf-like figure coming from a side path, not directly from the keep, but close enough that he almost laughed at the irony. The fully armored rider went to slowly trot by them and he couldn't but be as direct and goofy in his introduction to his friends as possible, so he steps in front of Svenrir's path in a challenging pose.

"And here I thought I was gonna' get a good welcome from you Rangers and instead I get to look down the snout of this wolf without so much as a word of hello. Geez you rangers must be getting lax in your welcoming parties." Dralcos chuckled to himself as all around him people eyed him with fear for his own life or smiled at his boldness to the ranger. "How ya' been Rainen?" with a big smile on his face, he asked.

Duncan went to the inn's adjacent stable, wondering just how he and his horse would keep up with one of the ranger's giant wolves? If they were just larger versions of regular wolves, they would not only be faster, but have more stamina than their horses too... He was glad that the rangers were on their side!

By the time Duncan had saddled up his horse and got moving towards the keep, it was already later than he wanted to leave. However, just before he arrived at the keep itself, he found Rainen riding atop Svenrir, being harassed by a strange looking man.
"Rainen?" Duncan said curiously, slowly gallopping towards the three, careful to keep the unknown man to his right.
