Time to announce to largest fall event for the Midwest!

Dominion of the Unconquered Sun hosts War of the Iron Fist VIII, that is being run by the Midwest Dagorhir Union.

War of the Iron Fist VIII
September 8-11th, 2011
at Stewart's Farm
589 NW 1381st Road
Holden, MO 64040-8400

Sir Kratos of Dominion and Myself(Rhia) of Lyonesse and Army of Mordor are the administrators for this event. There's a lot of improvements that should be in place for this event, such as more graveled trails, full pre-registration online in the next coming week, and a feast run by an actual caterer and entertainers.

Have pre-reg setup, just waiting to get it uploaded to the website. If you look up "War of the Iron Fist VIII" on the book of faces, you can find some information as we post it as well.

Merchants that should be there include but are not limited to:

Dyp Embellishments: Henna, garb, accessories, and warpaint.
Knitted Garments, accessories, etc.
3BQ: Food vending.(Barbeque)
Sable Manticore Armory: Armor and Leather goods
Sew it seams: Homemade Garb

The $5 feast menu has been finalized:
2 types of pasta
Marinara
Marinara with meat sauce
Green Beans
Tossed Salad
Bread
Fruits
Drinks

(This feast is limited to 200 people unless more than that pre-reg. The pre-reg link for feast will be up with the pre-reg link for the event it's self.)
The feast will also include fire spinners and breathers, the Poisoner bar(for those of age), and a toast.

You'd probably have to talk to someone from Dominion about that o_O probably Fafnir, since he's liable to be the only person from Dominion who's actually going out that direction.

As it stands right now, plan for it. I have the paperwork that needs to be filled out, and it will be this weekend... _{actually it'll probably be done before I log on wow tonight....} Currently the officers that have to approve it, know about War, and seem to have a good mind to approve my leave for it

@ soulasar, which groups besides Byzantium on the Dag side? I thought if any group would jump in on that event it'd be Dominion. That event is gonna be EPIC history!

As far as I know Byzantium is the only Dagorhir group running that event. I really wish I could go for the epicness.

There's not a lot of people from Dominion who actually travel much, so unfortunately, it most likely would be Fafnir if anyone else at all.

My boys -are- indeed rad

but it'll depend vastly on their work schedules getting time off and such.

Roc doesn't travel much outside of Rag though. He didn't even make Gates last time xD

Hey. My unit (Vor Volla, Springfield MO) Was planing to come up for the clean up day before the event (A few of us at least) Could someone give me some info about what we'll be doing and what we should bring? Thank you.

You'll need some work gloves, probably an axe or hack saw (the spring/summer storms have likely done a number on the trees in the area - expect a lot of downed branches!), and if you have access to it - I'd suggest a gas powered weed eater.

Earl is usually really great about pre-mowing all the camping sites, but you still might want the weed eater to trim around trees, or expand into thicker brush.

The clean-up dates have not been announced just yet. I'm pretty sure they need to get in contact with the land owners before hand.

Typically, it's a one day, come down and clean up - then head back kinda deal. I don't think they allow camping at that point, but you might be able to arrange crashing at someone's place in the area if the drive back is too much after working out there.

Saturday is generally when they're scheduled, but that could always change.

@Angus - I'm not sure who's in charge of camping situations, but I would suggest getting in touch with either Rhia, Kratos, or Kulprit. They seem to be the best people to get hold of for that sort of thing.

Ok.. I need to check this thing more often...

Ian: Cleanups are one day events. I'm still coordinating with Dom when those will be as they are in charge of campsites. Also, Earl requests you not cut down any trees without his permission. You can always remove deadwood though. If you're in doubt about doing anything to the campsite, Earl is an amazing guy who will let you know whats allowed and what isn't.

Angus: Again, Dom is in charge of campsites. How many in Brittania?

Ducky: I'll hope to see you guys, but yea.. War is pretty set on always being the second weekend of September, just in case you guys need reference in the future.

Also, going to go update some information on my post such as some of the merchants as well as working on a temporary option for pre-regging as I'm having a few issues with getting the UnConSun.org website updated. Also adding the menu for the feast which will be featured.

I love that my reputation as the traveling knight of Dominion is still intact despite this summer of not really fighting at all due to work.

Unfortunately, nobody mentioned to Dominion about working/helping with any events (Not that enough people would probably go to IL for an event sadly) and I personally don't have nearly as much time as I used to for things so if I get any time in September for an event it'll go towards War.

Ragnarok and Alaska took up all my vacation time this year. Sirilay's human country girl persona is very, very sad. I wish Wolfgang were going so I could send cider with him instead.

FYI for anyone interested in helping: Graveling of the trails will be Sunday the 24th of July. We could use anyone and everyone and after work is done we'll be holding a woods battle on the trails instead of our regular Dominion battle.

We're going to get you a campsite. I have Fauldenfell, Brittania, Guilder, and Stormwrath all listed as needing campsites. Could I get an estimate on amount of people/tents you guys will have so I can ensure you have a correct sized campsite?

yea, I'm gonna guess bout 7-10 tents, unsure about how many people probably around 15

A few things to tell everyone:

We are looking for medics who have certification and are willing to help out at the event. I have a few already, but having extra is never bad. And those who volunteer to do a shift have the possibility of getting in for free. Let me know if you're interested.

Also, looking for entertainers for Feast. There is the bardic circle, but this is different. I'm looking for poi spinners, bellydancers, tribal drummer,s fire breathers, the kinds of things that really don't fit in a bardic and require a lot of professional kinds of skills. If interested in that, also let me know.

Last thing. Pre-reg is up. Remember, if you don't pre-reg on the website or in person, you have to pay $5 extra onsite. What that means is the difference between $15 and $20. Also, feast could sell out, like it did at Gates. So please, pre-reg ASAP.

And to the members of Guilder and Fauldenfel, if you guys are wanting to camp together, I have a campsite figured out for you guys that's one I've personally camped in a few times and is nicely laid out and higher ground(in case of inclement weather). I'll make sure its set aside for you.
