I just moved to Kansas, a little north of Topeka, and I would REALLY like to revive Kingdom of the Crimson Dawn, based in Topeka Kansas. I know this has been attempted in the past, but unless I feel like driving and hour and a half then i'm out of luck on finding a chapter, so I have motivation!

If ANYONE in the area would be willing to help out and would like to have a place to play, then speak up. If not, then I'll PROBABLY be attempting to insert myself into Stormwrath, as they are only 1hr 15m away from me, as compared to ~2 hrs for DotUS.

Lyonesse in shawnee KS may be of interest to you current administrator is Sir Logan Moore of KCD, and we have previously counted Stylgar as a member and have several other vets from the times of KCD that fight here we fight sundays at Shawnee Mission Park 12 - dark

That is another option, but it is still an hour and a half away from me. I have to drive 30 mins south to reach Topeka, and then it would be another hour east, so a little farther than Stormwrath would be. If it comes to it then I would be happy to make the drive, as I hear good things about Lyonesse.

looking at a map how can Stormwrath (Wichita, KS) be closer than KC?? google maps says it should be about 3 hours away from Holton, KS

also there is a small group forming in lawrence which would also be closer search emberfelds on FB

Get some gear and a couple friends, go out and fight. Same place and time every week. Put up some flyers in gaming stores and anywhere else that will let you that has high traffic. Soon someone will say, what's that, and you hook them. Then get them to bring their friends, soon you'll have a realm of your own, and the people you need to help run it. To be honest, if KCD isn't there anymore, start anew. If it's not there, there is prolly a reason, and one you may not want to be associated with.

My bad, I meant Gilead in Manhattan, Kansas. Not sure if they are still active though, so I'll check out the group forming in Lawrence as a backup idea. If I can find enough local interest then I am fine with starting up a new realm, I just need to build some more weapons for loaners before I can seriously begin the process.

I'm fairly versed in getting attention for gaming groups as I did that for several different reasons for the gaming club at the college where I used to live in Missouri (game tournaments, conventions, and the local dag group). I just thought it would be nice to have someone to coordinate efforts with the get help starting things and for support.

Pretty sure that was Kala's group, and it never really got off the ground. She moved there for school, then things being as they get to be, she came back to the KC area. But if ya still would like ot contact her about potential fighters in that area, PM me and I'll put you in contact.

Gilead is dead as far as I know. It was Dhooniboor's (spelling?) group YEARS ago. he is now MI in Dominion. there has been talk about a group in Man, Ks. The closest realms to you are SW in Wichita, Lyonesse in west KC and a new realm in Lawrence, ks. either way you go good luck. KCD was my first realm so it would be good to see it back up it that happens.

Listen to Oberon he is gorgeous, great, and wise. Gilead and KCD are whispered realms or moot to history at this point.

If I can't generate any interest around topeka (and judging by the past attempts that seems to be the most likely scenario) then I will probably be looking into making the drive to kc to practice there. I've got a college friend that plays in kc, not sure of what name she is going by but when she was in northern Missouri it was slagathor.

Odd. It appears something has happened to the forwarding thingies. You can find me on the Tome of Faces, where Stylgar is my middle name, or the Dagorhir address used to forward to the same address, but at AOL, which is still valid. I'd love to get things restarted. Are you up by Holton?

Sorry about the no reply, I didn't see that this thread was alive again. Now that I look at it, I'm technically closer to Mayetta than Holton (I didn't even know Mayetta was a place until I looked at a map). My main problem with getting the realm started again would be the lack of weapons. as far as an arsenal goes I only have my personal weapon. Once I get some more dap (which could be a while) I can throw together a few swords, but nothing fancy.
