Insert some witty response about having sex with a generic member of your family that you will not take ill will to due to death and or close personal relationship.

The article I read said they used shotguns, and animal control had bigger guns.

Where was this article Orrin? Shotguns seem a really unlikely choice for shooting big game....

Not sure about a bear, but a 12ga with slugs would put down a lion or tiger, which looks to be the majority of what they had to kill.

Actually the linked article (Within the one Graymael linked) mentioned shotguns specifically.

Most departments carry slugs/buckshot in some combination and a lot of them have added 5.56 AR rifles as well.

A sad day a man and wife trying to save abandoned and donated animals.  In to the IRS for a pile of money and no longer has the means to care for and feed them.  It also seems that he had problems with his neighbors.  So he turn turns them all loose and eats a bullet...
...The end of Noah's Ark.

I just had my grand son to the Zoo the week before, He loves the big cats...  We were told to visit this place.

On one of the news programs they showed this pile of Lions and Tigers, and a tractor draging 4 more to the pile; they were being made ready for a mass grave that was being dug with a huge excavator.

Explain that to a 4 year old.

(He should have been interacting with his mom and dad not sitting in front of the flat screen)

I'm not into the government telling us what to do, but in this case...

What this guy did, and caused to happen to those animals makes me sick.

Just real quick for those of you who do not hunt, I'm not reading very carefully btw...

In most counties in MD here we have to hunt with shotguns because the giant slugs out of them do not travel as far as rifle rounds which can go over a mile without difficulty.  I use 1.25 oz slugs that leave the muzzle at 1454 fps and deliver a MASSIVE amount of energy (mass x acceleration).  They are THE perfect thing at close range (mine is zeroed at 100 yds) to take down damn near ANY animal.  And at very close range (< 30 yds), buckshot is perfect for taking down anything smaller than a cow.

My shotgun:

-Remington 870 Express 3" chamber
-fully rifled Mossberg barrel made for the 870
-Simmons 3x9 40mm scope
-ammo is Lightfield Commander Hybrid EXP Sabot Slugs

It groups 3" at 100 yds and makes gigantic holes in deer.

Yep, it's why I am willing to spend close to $3 a round.  Good ammo, good equipment, good shooting...  At 50 yds the holes in the paper touch, it's pretty righteous.

Yeah, lightfields are pretty awesome, definitely worth the money.  Devastating on the target end too.  Knocked a 190 lb buck to the ground once.  I'm not a good enough shot to do 3" at 100 yds, but my gun probably could.

That statement is why I know you actually shoot.  I don't think I could do that either without a bench rest...  And yeah, Lightfields are gross on the receiving end, I have yet to lose a deer I have hit with one.  They define "devastating".
