Hey guys. I run Land Grab for Five Armies and all Britannia Faire events. For those of you who haven't made it out yet, we're a campsite dedicated to a primitive, medieval feel. Some of the advantages include no muggles gawking, or blacktop roads next to your canvas pavilion. My favorite perk to camping at Britannia, though, is the ability to claim, develop, and really own your campsite. If you've been to Teutoburg you get the idea of what can be done, and the sense of home that comes with a camp that intrinsically belongs to your realm, unit, and family. That being said, I'm the guy who puts the flags on the map.
All camps from last year's Five Armies (and any other Brit Faire event) are welcome to their spots again. Camping at the site is generally split in to Bandit Camp, the all night party forest where your tent is only a drunken stumble away, and the rest of the valley where you can camp next to the battle field, the stone circle, near the swimming hole, or in terraces cut in to the actual hillside.
Now I know it's pretty damn early, especially for us Dag folk, to plan this far ahead. What I need is someone from each returning camp to contact me and let me know roughly where you were camped last year, and a rough estimate how many people or tents you'll have. If you can't remember or know how to describe where you were, just say in Bandit Camp, or by the battle field or something basic. For new camps, give me a vague number of attendees/tents and whether you want to camp in Bandit Camp, or somewhere quieter.
I can be reached here via pm, on facebook as Simon Rap Altschuler, via rap@ the website in my signature without the three w's, or, you know, in person at a Dorkbattle event.
