The High Spires
« on: April 03, 2012, 09:54:56 pm »
Hey! I'm new to the Dagorhir boards. I have known about Dag for a couple years now but I haven't had the time to register. I have an issue...
I tried to get in touch with the group by emailing the "person in charge". I have sent three emails and none of them have been responded to. I was wondering if High Spires is even still active. My band, my girlfriend and I are very interested in joining but have no way of getting in touch with anyone. If anyone has any ideas as to how I should approach this situation of "silence" that would be fantastic!

Our practices are 1:00 at Blackburn Park in Atlanta every Sunday. Email me with any of your questions.

High Spires Weapons
« Reply #5 on: April 07, 2012, 02:42:06 am »
I also was wondering, what kind of loaner weapons do you guys have? I have a sword of my own but its too heavy for a blue and too light for a red.

What is the length of the sword? Weight doesn't actually matter on a blue as long as it is more than 12oz. If you're saying it is too heavy for you to feasibly use, then that is understandable, but there is no rule explicitly failing a blue for being heavy.

1st, good on you for at least trying to build a sword. Many don't.
2nd, one of our fighters just recently built a few loaners, and more than a couple of us have multiple weapons for borrowing.

Its cool, I heard you couldn't make it this week while at practice. Come fight whenever you can make it, no big deal.

It was sort of addressed but not completely. For the most part our loaner weapons are Blues (mostly swords and clubs) and Shields (punch and strap).

As a chapter rule we try to limit fighters from using Reds, Spears, and projectiles (especially projectiles) until they show they have an understanding of the rules and fighting basics.

Sounds reasonable. I've been playing with friends for about 2 years or so now so I think i may have just about enough understanding to do fairly decent. I would definitely like some pointers though ;)
