Where can I look up individual and different styles of period clothing?

I've tried googling "Types of tunics" and various other things, and there just doesn't seem to be a good gallery detailing what I'm looking for, or I'm just not finding it.

I want to be able to look at different types of tunics, pants, boots, and whatnot so I can try to figure out what I want to use (or use as inspiration) for my garb now that I'm trying to build an actual kit.

You're going to need to do some learnin' about history and look up the fashions and clothing styles of individual cultures.  Also, "fashion history" might help as a search term.


Are you just looking for Western European cultures?  What time period?
