It was a pretty fun show -- wish more people had shown up and we had had more contestants, though. Still, thanks to the judges and to everyone who did come.

One entry for children with garb.
About.... 6 or so entries for $20 and under garb.
Two male fighting garb contestants, one female fighting garb contestant.
And a good handful -- probably 5-8 or so of women's feast garb and then men's feast garb.
Then everyone who entered was also a contestant for crowd favorite and best in show.

Fantastic prizes too -- live steel, winingas, cloaks, brooches, leather pouches, modular arrow heads, jewelry, a mug from Alric, etc. Most of them donations from Dag people or merchants who were there.

As best I recall...
I earned second for men's feast, Ravus earned first. The Krampus earned third.
I can picture the other winners for other categories, but I didn't catch the names.
The Krampus got crowd favorite, I think.

I heard that as well, and I shall have to ask her for the details on this event on which I heard nothing about.

I'm still baffled he didn't beat me out, even with the vibrams. All the same, the fashion show looked pretty awesome all around.

Anyone remember who won the budget category? I wasn't able to make it to the fashion show and I want to know! I hear maybe it was a lady from Imperial Guard?

It was. Mitten or Mittens was her name.

Nah, you looked good. Also, this being my first event wearing all my new garb, I did really realize just how badly I needed period footwear like you had. And way to play that strumstick for the first time ever!

Thank you, Ilsa, for making most of the garb that I wore in the show (and Alric for the mug hanging off my belt).

Lovely Ljuda received 3 prizes - Women's feast garb (which she made entirely herself, down to the embroidery and the shoes she made in camp shortly before the show) and I forget the others. Best overall?

Last year there were more kids, but the event didn't really happen so maybe that's why there weren't more at the actual show. The Child Formerly Known As Eep was happy...and sugarfied...and sticky....

The Fashion Show had a flyer posted on the bulletin boards and it was on the schedule. Good fun. Let's do it again.

really, i didn't know most of the contestants, so good work, Dag!

i still have to ask the judges if they kept their lists of winners.

another BIG THANK YOU to everyone who donated prizes! i hadn't expected to get such a great haul, i think it'll help flesh out the competition next year!

thank you to Redwycke and Sowerwine and The Gorgon for arranging the stage! and to my judges and helpers! and all of the participants!

Silk and i sat down immediately and took notes on what we can improve next year. it'll probably be called the Garb Exhibition to make it seem more competitive and less about being purdy.

the toughest part i noticed was trying to keep the judges impartial if there was a close call and they knew the person had handmade their garments. this was about how you look whether you made it or bought it. judging handiwork is for the A&S Competition.

Almost everything. Next year I will have learned how to do tablet weaving myself and I credit my husband for the knife and Lock for the sheath.

Yes, I placed first in Women's Feast Garb and then got Best in Show. "The Krumpus" got crowd favorite. There was a Sowerwine who placed first in Men's Fighting Garb.

What the crowd favorite category taught me is that the judges were thinking along the same lines as the audience for the most part. The greatest applause were for the folks that the judges seemed to favor.
