Feast garb, pictures please

Rúnsær:
I have seen feast garb mentioned a number of times.  I have seen lots of pictures, often asked for by others.  I would like to see some pictures that are clearly feast garb.  All I can think of so far is just some fancy stiching around the hems and maybe silk for a material.

Ravus:
Your feast garb will depend on your character. Most of my fighting garb is either T-tunics or Bockstens, my feast garb is a little fancier (Currently: a mid-calf length white tunic with simple embroidery around the sleeves, my long surcoat, my wool mantle and what little bit of Jewelry I have. I won 'best male feast garb' at the fashion show at rag and i'll repost the pictures as soon as I see 'em up).   Embroidery definitely fancies things up, i'm also a big fan of fancier surcoats, over-tunics, etc. Think layers: modern formal wear is a suit, Feast wear should (in my opinion) also have a few layers to it just to class things up.

Rúnsær:
Thank you for the response and the promise of pictures.  You mention a mantle.  I am thinking it would have a hood.  You say a white tunic.  I am thinking that could get stained very easily. Do you use big napkins tucked under the chin at feasts or are there other tricks?  I have not been to much in the line of fancy dinner parties.  Do you hang your coat up or off the back of your chair or keep it on?

Ravus:
My mantle does have a hood, but like my cloak i'm not a big fan of wearing my hood up unless it's cold or rainy. The white tunic getting stained isn't a huge issue because my surcoat covers everything but my arms, other than that i just try to eat neatly while wearing my fancy clothes. the surcoat stays on (and i'm not sure how familiar you are with surcoats... the pictures will make more sense) but if i have a cloak handy i'll drape it over the chair when I sit rather than try to deal with it while eating.

Here's me in fighting garb (no armor):

Here's me in feast garb, on stage with Ishtar at Rag this year:

Here's the main differences:

I often fight in a surcoat with my heraldry on it. I don't tend to wear it when I'm in feast garb, as I think of a surcoat as a fighting garment. Besides, mine's several years old, fairly faded and worn, and not really appropriate for the Viking aesthetic I do now.

I wear pants other than black for feasting.

Often I'll fight in combat boots with winingas. I wasn't this day, but often. For feasting, I wear turnshoes - but honestly I fight in those more and more these days too.

I usually have an arming cap on when fighting.

My fighting tunics are plain black linen. They all have iron cross trim, but that's it - no facings, no cuffs, etc. My feast tunics are not only trimmed, they have contrasting facings, better construction, and aren't all torn up from fighting.

I hang a lot more crap off my belt when I'm not on the field. Multiple knives, multiple belt favors I've been awarded, flask, tankard, etc. On the field, my belt holds my rank flag, a pouch, and my backup sword. That's it.

I tell my guys to basically try and look like themselves, but better and cleaner. Just like you'd put on a suit for a formal dinner, you put on your best clothes for feasting.
