Kensman Bam:
August 17 at 3:30pm until August 19 at 12:00pm

Doe Lake Campground, Marion, FL

The time has come for Florida's ultimate annual campout, Summer Slaughter.

----------------------------------------------------

-Summer Slaughter admission is $20 for everyone. This includes fighters and non-combatants alike. Feast is also included in the price. There is no negotiating the price if you don't want feast. $20 solid.

-Troll Opens at 3:30pm, come no earlier than 3pm.

-There are new camping/tenting areas. Once you sign in at Troll you will be shown multiple lots to set up your tents. DO NOT set up before signing in!

-DAGORHIR RULE-SET HEAVILY ENFORCED. If you are cross gaming, please familiarize yourself with our rules, customs, and weapons. This includes great garb.

-Dagorhir Battle Games Waivers will be present. All participants must sign a release form before they will be allowed to participate in the event. For those who are under 18, a legal guardian must sign the release form with either a notary or a member of the Dagorhir check-in staff as witness. The minimum age for Dagorhir is 16.

-On Friday we will be having "Classes" for the following categories: Archery (mandatory for all archers), Green/Yellow/White, Blue/Shield, Red, and Grapple classes. If you cross game, or need to brush up on rules and techniques, we recommend you to participate.

-Weapons Check opens at 8am and closes at 9am. Get yourself up and ready to get your weapons looked at. When we close, no more weapons will be accepted. The staff are hard workers that are taking time away from having fun for you. They will be needed elsewhere. If you cannot make it between those times, that is your problem.

-Tournaments! Single Blue, Blue and Board, Green, Red, Wargod, Four Horseman, and the Noob Tournament (fighters 6 months or less)

-Scenarios! Fighting on Saturday will start at 10am. Scenarios include: Resurrection Battles, Unit Battles, Bridge Fight, Islands, Hell Hounds, and the Summer Slaughter Classic, Osgiliath! (Note: All are subject to change. Details coming soon.)

-New Feast Hall Rules! No more fighting within the hall EVER. Merchants can still place their wares inside. The above still applies if you are a weapon merchant. Also, the kitchen will no longer be a high traffic area. Only staff and select unit admins will be allowed to enter. More on this soon.

-Raging Raffle! Earn raffle tickets during night life gatherings/activities and earn prizes after feast on Saturday. Prizes ranging from weapons to armor. More details coming soon.

-Our staff will have a Medic and Security team. We expect the best from our fighters, and we will take care of you in times of need. Any illegal activities WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. Security will kick you out.

-Event ends Sunday. Be prepared to pack up, clean up, and say your goodbyes before 12:00pm, noon. Everyone must be out by then.

-When traveling to the campsite, be aware of your map-quest, Google maps, or GPS. There is another location that they may possibly take you that is way off the path. Please use the above location and search under Google maps. You will see the lake marked 'Doe Lake' and the camp ground to the right. That is the correct location. Here is an image to help you locate the park:

If your other sources show something other than the image above, you will be taken to the wrong place. Please be careful.

-Please also be aware that the cell phone reception near Doe Lake campsite is extremely limited. DO NOT rely on cell phone gps within nearly 20-30 minutes of the campsite, or rely on calling someone at Doe Lake. Very few people had any reception at all last year.

-Scenarios Details, Feast Details, etc will be provided in the coming weeks.

----------------------------------------------------

This is the big event of the summer, so show your respect and love for the sport and come on out to fight. We had around 100 fighters show up last year and I know we will break records this year. Let the slaughter begin...

Kotaro:
It would be the very weekend of Gen Con... :'(

Ramoen, Son of Tara:
Myself and some of my brethren will be going. Super excited.

bryman:
I really wish I was ready for this :(

Im just (re)starting, and apparently my only sword probably wouldnt pass weapons check. This sucks.

warwell:
Bryman,

Just GO. Find Gorg of Atlantis on Facebook and order a sword from him. I'll bet he can make one that you could pick up at Summer Slaughter. If you prefer to make your own and are having trouble, try the DAPless blue sword directions - http://www.dagorhir.com/forums/index.php/topic,14633.0.html.

YIS,
Rufus of Dragon Coast
