Things have generally been calm, with the exception of an occasional bar brawl or shanking, but now rumors are spreading of an ancient and valuable treasure on another of the mist-shrouded Lake's mysterious islands. Two pirate crews will compete for gold and glory. Will your crew find riches, or be joining Davy Jones?

Additional Info: This is a wooded area with variable terrain and the open areas are prone to gravel, appropriate footwear is advised. The park we will be using also features a single person, unisex, but otherwise real and fully functional restroom.

Minimum garb per MOA standards required.

Weapon Check will be conducted per the 2011 MOA in reference to weapon size, dimensions, and weight.

Fixed.

Someone actually pointing it out would have been far more helpful than cracks about time machines.

Well, lets be honest, year doesn't really matter much in postings about events because we know that it is happening this current year.

Still looking forward to this event a bunch!

Battles:

1. Brawl in the Bar:

Rumors have been spreading throughout the town regarding a mystical idol hidden on a faraway island. In the Erie Pub, two of the town’s most ruthless pirate crews gather to find the location of this island and will kill anyone who stands in their way, including other pirates…

Chaos Battle. Daggers, rocks, and various pub items only (a supply of loaner daggers, rocks, and "improvised" weapons will be available. You my use your own daggers and rocks). Single death battle, will be run multiple times. The last two standing will be pirate captains for the day and in charge of their respective crews.

2. The Town Square:

The fighting in the pub explodes into the streets and anyone with a sword joins in. The pirate crews rally their forces and fight in the streets causing chaos and panic among the townsfolk.

Open field two team battle. Single death fight with multiple runs or limited res depending on attendance.

3. Get to the Ships

With the two crews evenly matched, they race to their ships to be the first to sail to the mystic treasure. But the townsfolk want them to pay for the damage they have done with their lives and attack them.

Running woods battle. Each pirate crew must get as many fighters to the checkpoint as possible while the other team plays the townsfolk and try to stop them. Single death battle. Will be run twice with each team alternating pirate and townsfolk.

4. Fight the Kraken!

With the island now on the horizon, the crew makes ready to go ashore. However they are surprised to see a giant mythical beast called the Kraken is defending the island. The crews must defeat the Kraken as soon as possible if they even wish to hope to be the first to the idol.

One team is the Kraken, the other is the pirate crew. Run the battle twice and the team that kills the Kraken in the shortest time gets a special bonus for the rest of the day. The Kraken will be made of one person acting as the head. Each other member of the Kraken must have at least one hand holding a rope that is also held by the “head” of the beast. The “head” is immortal until all limbs have been killed and severed.

5. Fight for the Idol

Both pirate crews have managed to make it to the island and have found the mystical idol. The two crews clash again in an effort to secure the idol for their own.

Golden Idol res battle. The team who doesn’t have the idol will be allowed to res, while the team that does will not. After 30 minutes, everyone will be given one last res and the survivors left standing with the idol wins!

6. Boarding Crew

One of the crews manages to make it back to their ship with the Idol and the other is not far behind. The two get to open water and prepare for battle. As the crews get within range of each other the two crews fight in an epic sea battle!

Ship to ship Death tax battle. There will be a big divide and two gang planks for people to fight over. Fighters res until the res point has hit team max and is shut off. Last crew standing wins.

7. Momma Kraken

As the battle rages between the two crews there is horrendous scream the likes of which no man has ever heard. The boats sway as gigantic tentacles begin to rip and tear the boats and their crews to pieces. The captains decide to join forces and defend their ships and their lives against the Kraken’s angry mother.

Ship to Ship battlefield. Res/death limit TBD by attendance. Momma Kraken will comprise of a head that will hold ropes that are tied to the “tentacles”’ belts/waist. Each part of M.K. will have double armor and holy weapons. That means blues are considered reds, reds smash shields in one hit, single greens can go through armor. Shields take 4 hits from a normal red to break. Holy armor requires one red, two double greens, and/or 4 blue hits to compromise. To kill M.K. The two larger tentacles (red wielders) must be killed before the head can be killed. Once the head is killed, the beast is dead, even if there are still tentacles alive.

Have fun, kill lots!

Projected weather for Saturday is sunny and mid-80's. However, we will have a lot of shade and a light breeze. Bring layers if you chill easily.

And remember, due to the large amounts of gravel, barefoot is not advised.

This is literally a 10 minute walk from my house.  Glad I found out about it- not so glad I don't have proper garb yet, or that I work for the first half of the day.  Might have to see what I can put together on short notice.

At least I have a good hat!
