Disguising Under Armor

Blackhawk The Apollyon:
UA tends to peek out from under tunics and such. I am looking for easy temporary fixes all the way up to complicated permanent alterations. I don't want to ruin it or compromise it's properties in any way, so lets brainstorm about it.

I am toying around with ways to trim it out, just the sections that peek out. But trim does not flex like UA so sewing it directly on the UA wont work. Embroidery might work as long as the person doing it were able to do it in a way that looks good when stretched.

Possibly we can attach the trim with a slight gather, allowing it to expand when it is put on. A zig zag might be effective in allowing the UA to stretch as well. Remember, we are simply looking for ways to dress up the UA so it is slightly less obtrusive, total concealment might not be necessary. Breaks in the trim and sewing it on at points instead of a full attach might work as well. Maybe even using something like arming points on the UA for the trim could be feasible.

Maker Magpie:
Wear legal garb over it which is full enough not to allow the mundane clothing to show. Voila!

Milo Baines:
I don't know UA real well, but would it be possible/easier to simply cut and face the neck to look like a tunic instead of attempting to find some medieval style stretchable material to trim it in?

That way wouldn't it just look like an undertunic...?

Silk:
I was thinking along the same lines, Milo. It could be done.

Another thought is to make something like a yoke with a neck styled however you want it. You could wear it over your UA if the tunic you happen to be wearing doesn't cover it up, and not wear it if your tunic does. You could have a few of them in different styles to go with whatever garb you wanted.

That said though, it's still a lot of work and you may as well have made high necked tunics to cover the UA in the first place.
