Ragnarok XXVIII Arts and Sciences Showcase!!!

(1/1)

Shatterhaze:
(O great and powerful Mods, could I get a sticky? Thanks!)

Greetings Dagorhirrim!

It's my pleasure to announce the Ragnarok University's Rag 28 Arts and Sciences Showcase!

While the fine details (which day of Rag, where, etc.) are still being hammered out, we here at Rag U wanted to give our fellow artisans as much time as possible to put together the best projects they could to submit this coming year. So, heads up!

One thing we're trying for this showcase is evaluating entries on a number of criteria. Craftsmanship and presentation are two examples. We'll also be asking about your research (for historical projects) or inspiration (for fantasy-based endeavors), both in the prupose and function of the entry as well as the process in which you created it.

We're hoping this goes over really well, and would LOVE to see what Dagorhirrim out there can do with their vast knowledge and imagination. Never been in an A&S? Never fear! Showcases such as these can can be fantastic venues for the exchange of knowledge and "picking the brains" of your peers.

I'll be updating this thread as new information becomes available. Feel free to post any questions or creative discourse. Thanks!

Squire Ducky McFeelgood:
You should do it Thursday. I have a feeling there won't be much fighting on Thursday.

PhelanGrey:
Are there categories, guidelines, Etc.?  For those of us less familiar with the concept.

Sváva The SpaceWolf:
Will you want folks submitting stuff to have write ups on their submissions?

Shatterhaze:

Phelan: Yes, the main guideline is that submissions should pertain to Dagorhir or the time spans/fantasy genres represented therein. Based on that, some category examples: Historical Garb, Fantasy Armor, Calligraphy and Illumination, Period/Fantasy Cooking, Pottery... the list is quite lengthy and inclusive. We can help you find the right category for your submission at the time of the showcase, as well. :)

Svava: It's not required this go around, but will get you bonus points.

A more detailed, specific write up on the actual showcase process ins-and-outs will be up in the next few weeks as it becomes finalized, filed, re-filed, copied in triplicate, lost, found, re-lost, and buried with the ravenous bug-bladder beast of Trogg. Vogon Poetry is NOT a viable category due to insurance and public safety concerns.

I hope that answers your questions. Anyhthing else I can do for you, feel free to ask! Happy crafting!
