First you take a piece of fabric and cut it the length of your blade, and then pin it together on the flat side of the weapon on one side, so it's tight but not over tight, like this.

After you pin the fabric, take it off the sword and sew a straight stitch along the line of pins, so it looks like this. It creates a sleeve of fabric.

Then put the sleeve back on the blade till it fits snugly. The top of the sleeve will still be open.

I take the open end of the sleeve and fold in the striking edge sides of it so it's laying against the top of the blade.

Then I take the flat sides and push them together, pinning them snug against the top.

I sew along the pins and cut the excess fabric. It will look like this.

Then it's finished, I turn the sleeve inside right and put it on the blade snuggly.

After that you just tape it and play.
